..Are both teams on the warbarge or are there two? I never really thought about it. Shouldn't there be a fight going on between the two, if they're from opposing factions / corporations? If so, it would be pretty cool to see it out the window. Or even be able to see the Warbarge as an inanimate ship from above the district that the capsuleers could see and orbit in EVE.. It should have the HP of a mini-station though or be indestructable, even.
In the long run, it would be cool to see the ship model of the capsuleer in space from outside the warbarge window. Again, these are long-term hopes, years down the line.
But for now, why are both teams inside the warbarge pre-battle? Shouldn't the attacking team only 'ready-up' from within the warbarge, whilst the defending team readies up from an armory / briefing room located on the district below? Instead of an orbital view of the planet from inside the warbarge, the defending team could see out a window showing the map outside on which they will be soon fighting for. Hopefully at that stage, the attacking team within the warbarge would have their hologram-map fixed, showing the structures of the district so the team / squads could strategize. But right now, it just seems strange to have the two teams inside the warbarge. Also would be *awesome*, once they bring in the other two racial MCC's, to have racial Warbarge variants, depending on the Faction you're fighting for. The more depth / detail to the game, the more attractive it is to its players!
And to finish off, i'll bring up the question EVE players have been asking since the beginning...; when can we leave our merc quarters and go play Slay (PS Home Dust 514 minigame) in the Station we're in? Or better yet, our Corp station..
I know it's SoonTM but I still like to ask. One day.... one day, CCP.

Warbarges park themselves in low orbit/high atmosphere to avoid dealing with EVE capsuleers.
The area above a district is large enough that it would be unlikely to see an enemy warbarge from your own without being close enough to engage.
Future expansions for DUST are supposedly meant to (eventually) include a commander role where the player stays on board the MCC in an almost RTS-like gameplay mode. If this ever does happen, I hope they take a lot of cues from Armored Core V and Verdict Day, with their "Operator" mode. It's possible the MCC commander role will be that of a district commander, and there could be a planetary command role for a player maintaining the Warbarge. Eventually, the possibility has been discussed for Warbarges to be a resource to be managed in PC. Again, there's no real timeframe or confirmation this will definitely happen - the most recent mention of any of this has been FAR less recent than discussions about Rogue Drones and MTACs, both of which are also well overdue for more info. |

Explains alot, Garret. I should of known they'd be in a lower orbit, as seen at the end of the Dust 514 'Make An Army' trailer when the cameras moving from the ground, to space, you can catch a glimpse of a warbarge in lower orbit than the approaching EVE pilots. Yeah, the commander role would be an excellent touch, it would require Corps looking for a good battle tactician and all-round strategist. Meta-games. I love it!!
