I think it's about time for grenades to be more tactical. I'd like to discuss adding more (or at least one) grenade types and then balancing the ones we have now.
I personally have a hard time thinking of grenade ideas but a Grenade for each race/ weapon type would be best.
Grenade-weapon type Shield damage modifier-armor damage modifier
Locust Grenade-explosive 80%-120%
Amarr Grenade-laser (Real head scratcher any ideas would be amazing) 120%-80%
Gallente plasma grenade-plasma 110%-90%
Minmatar grenade-projectile 95%-110%
Caldari Grenade- rail (lol maybe there's creative minds that could figure that out) 90%-110
Now onto the tweaking. The locust Grenade cares very little whether your shield or armor tanking I'd like to see the damage pulled back a little so it's not an auto win in every situation. I think choosing a grenade should be like choosing a SMG over a laser rifle against a Gallente assault.

I think this would compliment both the current game, as it already is, and my proposed version of the game (with ewar modules/grenades) as well. |

Don't forget the flux even if its destructive to the caldari state, it still exists

Eh, the flux gets minimal use as sometimes it's kinda useless and if more grenades where added I think it may become completely unused.

Best grenade suggestion I've heard so far is this:
Nerf the locus grenades, and add a thermal grenade that deals severe damage to armor.
Who cares what some sniper has to say

Amarrian Grenades would fire lasers in multiple directions. A direct hit from one of these lasers would result in SERIOUS injury. Made for area denial/defense, the things the Amarr excel at. Downside: It's not an actual explosion, so it could miss. However, the lasers persist for a while, so it could potentially block a door for a while.
Caldari Grenades would be like an EMP grenade. Blinds the victim(s), disables their weapon, and has a fairly long range (10m should be fine). Downside: It does no damage. Makes a great weapon that, when thrown, provides a Scout with a quick getaway, or gives an Assault a room full of helpless targets. Effect should last for about 3-4 seconds.
Gallente Grenade. They own Flux Grenades, but the Plasma Grenade should be INSANELY short range, but does enough damage to seriously injure even a proto-heavy. Would be a good weapon to use for hit-and-run gun-play, where you cripple the heavy and let your squadmates finish him off.
Minmatar Grenades, IMO, should have very low damage compared to other grenades, but split up into multiple smaller grenades. This follows the Minmatar's thing: Low damage, high RoF.
Of course, there'd then be the 4 grenades that are just standard grenade types, with different damage types. -Hybrid - Plasma -Hybrid - Railgun -Explosive -Thermal -EMP

I'm pretty sure locus grenades are minmatar, though thought of a disco grenade makes me reminisce of a better time. *stares aimlessly while agreeing with this idea. |

Basically it explodes with every type of radiation we know about to cause temporary blindness, deafness, and HUD malfunction over a large area.
