Ok, now that I am through with telling the AV community to HTFU (turn about is fair play) I've decided to do some tank critiquing.
My skills into tanks are pretty mediocre right now, as I put most of my SP, from the respec, into RR and nearly completing all my race's dropsuits.
Here is the fitting I am currently running:
Gunnlogi
Mlt railgun damage amp 2x Complex shield hardener
Mlt heavy armor repairer blueprint Enhanced CPU upgrade unit
186,000 ISK
I only played two games and then I was like: meh, this isn't very fun.
some problems:
1. 186,000 ISK makes me not really care about my tank, and that is for the Gunnlogi. The only thing my Sica doesn't have, that my Gunnlogi does, is the damage amp, and my Sica costs 136,000. I think that the lowest cost tank should be somewhere around 3 to 4 hundred thousand ISK, with a well fit tank running somewhere around 7.
2. Tanks are to fast. Now don't get me wrong here, I definitely think that, before 1.7, tanks were to slow, giving the tank pilot very little to no time to respond to threats, but this is just to fast as a base speed. The battles are no longer dynamic anymore. If you get in trouble just activate a hardener and run like a bat out of hell. This makes for a kind of predatory style of tank on tank battles, instead of tank battles being slow requiring planning and positioning, choosing carefully whether to engage at longer ranges or shorter ranges. Now people just drive at top speed and try to catch other tankers off guard (I chased this one poor guy in a mady through mountain passes and in between buildings and out on to the streets again before I finally killed him) Anyway, tank speed should probably be reduced to around about 200 or 180 km/h. (if I am remembering right, tank speed in 1.6 was around 100 km/h, if that is right then these numbers should be good; if I'm wrong, someone let me know what the speed used to be so I can edit)
I didn't really feel the presence of AV, all that much, on the field in these two games, so I really can't speak to the state of AV yet (although I did kill this poor forge gunner like three times). As, time goes on and I experience more AV, I'll probably right another review on that.
So, my first impression of 1.7 tanks is that they still need a good deal of work. I did like the ideas behind the revamping of the module and skill system a lot though, think you guys did a great job there.
So, tanks left kind of a bad taste in my mouth, for the moment. When I work up some more desire to drive them again I'll do another review.

spent 9 mil sp into shield tanks, my gunnlogi costs 500k isk and is popped easily by a milita railgun. That is the problem. milita tanks are too good and railguns are OP.

My proto suit can easily be popped by a militia AR, what's your point? |

MLT tanks are as good as the people who use them. Just like lower tier dropsuits. The mods make a big difference and so does the turret, but at the end of the day a good tanker can beat a bad tanker regardless of what he is using.
I've personally seen Sev beat 2 maddys and a gunnlogi with a sica. 3 vs 1 and he beat their butts in.

Acceleration: yes there are no numbers for that however. But you are right that is definitely the problem.
Does anybody have the exact top speed numbers from 1.6 so I can do an edit to the OP. thanx.
