My experience:
I wanted to fight for Caldari for the rail gun fit. I played & lost a lot because most ppl use Galente in the game if they know better. So I knew it would be tough. I grinded anyways,raising my standings,dealing with unbalanced teams & near invincible tanks constantly. Finally I'm in a good match (balanced & close). "Oh snap, we have Eve support", I thought. I'm usually squad leader so I call an Orbital we take the lead, after some time we earn another.... Now here is the Bs. Team chat DOES NOT WORK for PC Battles or Faction Warfare, I call in an Orbital strike one person(not in my squad) dies from friendly fire from the Orbital, I get kicked from the game, lose 450 points in standings (which is All the standings I earned to that point) And can't participate in any matches for 24 hours.
Ccp I tried to stick it out with u, making excuses for your behaviour to my friends (can't defend flying Tanks or they're being invincible) but, at this point Ccp I think we need to see other people. |

Unplayable might be a bit of a stretch but I see your point. You call the OS in but it isnt necessarily right on time, every time, afaik.
You cant really do it any other way though. Some AWOXer could call in strikes on friendlies and without some nasty form of punishment.. :-(
While it sucks that truly loyal people get punished for honest mistakes, I cant think of a good solution to it right now. |

Its not really a stretch... it is broken. For an AWOX'er to do this would require actually a team of them working together.
That being said, fix the system so a full team of 16 can actually go into the same match please. |

Yes team chat is broken, but even if the pilot got jumped by pirates they will be disconnected from the chat anyway and you wouldn't know what happened if he/she died or had to warp off.
Pro Tip :: This is why you need to have your own private channel for the pilot and yourself/squad to communicate in.
This also gives you some advantage to make sure you get the OBGÇÖs (not blue dots) and if you accidentally call it in over friendlies you can ask the pilot not to shoot until you have re-requested another safer orbital location.
