Apologies if this has been explained elsewhere (by CCP or anyone else), but I'm on a lunch break and only have a few minutes.
Regarding the lowered LP payouts per match that is now reflected in the updated dev blog, it must be noted that the prices in the store were dramatically slashed as part of the same balance pass. Therefore, this idea of a perceived "nerf" to payouts is absolutely false.
In fact, during the review I urged FoxFour to conduct based on my own research into the numbers, the overall value in terms of "amount of stuff I can buy with my end of match earnings" has actually increased slightly from the numbers in place at the time of the blog's publishing.
There is still a completely fair debate over whether you can earn enough gear at level 10 to sustain the losses incurred to get there and stay there, and this is a concern I already predicted would be a problem before this whole system launched. However, to influence CCP here we must be razor sharp in our analysis and all the crying about how CCP suddenly ****ed us because of a nerf is not going to cut it.
Like I said, you may feel that the payouts are too low - but the overall translated isk value actually increased when compared to the original blog posting. |

The biggest problem as I see it, is the little difference in the LP payout between level 0 and 10. In the original chart there was a huge difference in LP payout.
I had expected to need to be at least level 5 or higher before I could get enough LP to buy specialized proto equipment.
The original setup looked better with the higher LP prices, then there would have been an incentive to try and reach level 10. The specialized weapons would have been rare allmost like officer gear. Now they have become a regular weapon with little fear of loosing it in the matches. |

It's the fact that there is only ~25 LP jumps between the levels in standing.
In the old chart, things really started to kick off around level six, with this new model, it never kicks off, there is no exponential increase in LP payout therefore making incentive for reaching higher standing levels nonexistent.

I have another question...why can't CCP do this kind of communication?
I guess it's not that hard if they can manage to act like a kid on the forums because they finished writing a long due DEV blog. |

What he's saying is that the prices were much higher.
I remember the pictures from Eve Vegas that Zion Shad posted. They had a GEK at like 300 LP.
But Hans said just a moment ago on Skype that he believes FW should be somewhat sustainable for those that want to play it 24/7. That isn't achievable with these payouts.

Hey Hans, have you even been reading the complaints? No one is saying "wow we were getting 40,000 now only 659?" Not at all, people acknowledge that was too high. People are complaining because there is not enough value in the LP we get even at Level 10.

The LP store has the exact same prices since 1.7 was dropped, and even at these prices, you're still going ISK negative when you do the math. |

40k was obviously an insane number but 659? Come on now. For what? So I can purchase 2 unique guns per match at max standings while hemorrhaging isk in the process?
You gotta ask yourself at what point does this become rewarding for the player?

I have to agree with this. Right now the only incentive to reach level 10 is to be able to grief a little more before being banned for the day.
There needs to be some kind of "unlocking" that occurs with increased faction standings. Something like:
To acquire faction based equipment and weapons, one needs to have at least level 1 faction standing. To acquire faction based dropsuits, one needs to have at least level 4 faction standings. To acquire faction based vehicles, one needs to have at least level 7 faction standings.
But yeah, most people don't care which factions they are fighting for and just randomly queue for all of them as the -15pts is not enough dis-insensitive to have to pick and choose one to faction to stay with. So they end up accruing LPs with all of them.

Well with the 40,000 LP version you could be paying over 1k LP for one of those same rifles. The numbers don't really matter as they still allow you to purchase the same stuff either way.
