The blessing and curse of STB is that they've never been top tier. All the top tier corps have eventually eaten themselves alive and all the strong players get offers elsewhere when they start to suffer. STB has high retention rates because they've never been the best and mainly consist of long term members.

I disagree, EON. Do you remember the war where you absorbed all of the good guys from STB in to TP to help you? No.. Short memory syndrome. Shame we actually helped ratain 90% of your districts. Scrubs Fo Sho.
STB has a high retention rate, because its fun to play with other likeminded individuals, no other reason.

GAC has been in Dust since the very beginning, with more than 10 players in the Mordu Private Trials. So has WTF, just to name 2 I've seen around from the very start and that still survive.
It could be argued that the branchs of EVE corps, like subreddit, are the longest running, since they have been in EVE for years before Dust started.
It does not matter anyway. Any corp that has been around for the last year and has participated in PC, and survived as a corp, is worthy of respect in my book. Those are not easy feats.

Guine's immature condescending attitude aside she is right but for the wrong reason.
STB sent SOME of their good players to TP to help take stacked timer, helping keep maybe 20% of our districts, but they weren't played in the tough battles vs AE with Arirana glitching (at least not intentionally) They were nevertheless crucial to fighting the hordes and those guys that did come and fight were awesome for doing so
STB however was a top tier corp. They competed well in the open beta tourney before the twins left. Many of their best did in fact leave to go elsewhere, but some have stayed. Biggs, Nixnova, those guys are boss.
And there are many that got there start in PRO, or STB, or even Subdreddit.

No Drama? Well I haven't heard any major issues other than what big corps face in their hayday, but externally there's been some heat for you guys. Whether it's being asshats in the past, Quickgloves and his relation to a few wars and events that occured, or the actual playstyle(which is more like infamy imo) of a lot of your guys, there's been drama.

Yeah, I find that we're pretty relaxed, a bunch of cool guys. Mike actually makes it a point not to accept known "drama queens", RND I've hung out with like once and I like them. Some, emphasis on some, people in AE I still hang out with, and they're pretty cool guys, good to chill with, never really been in a squad with STB but I always have to the wire matches with them, and I guess they could be pretty fun to hang with, but I wouldn't know.

"No drama" is really a matter of perspective.......Some would count the trials QG went thru and the splitting of top players to assist TP etc as a level of drama.
Also, if we counted forum activity I would say STB has some of the most overly dramatic history on here.
If you are just referring to a lack if in-fighting, then I would say there are MANY Corps with low levels of drama. However, I doubt ANY Corp can attest to zero in-fighting.......unless the Corp is so small that it wouldn't count.
Why is it the ladies in Dust seem to have more Testosterone than most of the Estrogen fueled whiners in here?

I think he means that we have defeated almost everyone that we have fought against at least once. That's completely different from saying that we have a positive record against the best corps in Dust. Claiming that would be ridiculous.
Of the top corps in Dust, the only one I have never been able to get a win against were the Imperfects ( I don't count Impswarm and NF as Imperfects.)
My top 5 Dust corps in quality is:
1. Imperfects. 2. PFBHZ, Hellstorm/AE, RND and Teamplayers, in no particular order.

Dust prime league, KEQ lost 2-1, we won the last battle. Maybe you were not there, I don't remember.
So that makes what, 7-1 in RND favor in the battles I have been in? Nobody is claiming that KEQ is a better corp than RND. Actually, I will say that while other top corps may be better than RND player by player, RND has some of the best teamwork and tactics I have seen in the game so far.
You'll notice that I did not propose KEQ at any point. We may be big, but certainly not the longest running and we have had some drama, even if we have survived it.

to be honest and fair....getting it back each time is a feat in itself and says plenty. Says a lot more than a lot of corps that has never even owned a district.

I think there's a difference between good drama free corps, and good corps that survive. Sooner or later there's always some 'drama' but you don't have to think of it like that, or let it make or break you just do your thing.
Couldn't agree more.
Honestly, drama is a test of a Corp and getting thru it makes it all the more stronger.
Why is it the ladies in Dust seem to have more Testosterone than most of the Estrogen fueled whiners in here?

Dust prime league, KEQ lost 2-1, we won the last battle. Maybe you were not there, I don't remember. So that makes what, 7-1 in RND favor in the battles I have been in? Nobody is claiming that KEQ is a better corp than RND. Actually, I will say that while other top corps may be better than RND player by player, RND has some of the best teamwork and tactics I have seen in the game so far. You'll notice that I did not propose KEQ at any point. We may be big, but certainly not the longest running and we have had some drama, even if we have survived it. No point in getting bothered by forum talk.
Yes, I remember this (I was running point), it was the last battle VS KEQ and KEQ did Win. It was a hard and great game so close to. So good game KEQ.
Just me talking. Like all and any corps that have lost in a battle "they is no excuse"that can be made, or even given fault to the victor (even if our guys at the time was fatigued of Dust and needed a break from PC(like most PC corps at the time(Eon 2nd war)), and with the Urgent Fury Tournament on going weekly and it bad timing.)because S H I T happen all the time so don't try to justify it because of a lost. Unless if they break a rule or cheat, than the right to rage and give fault is okay.
LOL , Also just remember guys was heaving hard time comprehending my bad engrish. (My Bad I'm Asian)

Haha well this escalated quite nicely, at least we had some food for thought in the War Room again (It was getting a tad stale in here on Friday).
The Love / Hate relationships here in DUST really do make the whole thing worthwhile. Its what powers New Eden (Not just opinions about STB) The inter-corp relations as a whole.

Discuss. The blessing and curse of STB is that they've never been top tier. All the top tier corps have eventually eaten themselves alive and all the strong players get offers elsewhere when they start to suffer. STB has high retention rates because they've never been the best and mainly consist of long term members. maybe you havent been here all that long but Godnova imps howdidthattaste imps youngcuz imps annie tp calamity tp jk420 ddb weebaby ddb healo healo ddb fighter 4 all ng hunterstorm ddb rest of ddbs a team and a **** ton of others we have been thru 2 and currently in the 3rd of the 3 major wars pretty sure first to hold a whole planet in pc now on the otherhand guiny there has been a fair bit of drama in stb.
Um you were the first to plant a flag on a planet or first to buy an entire planet i agree. You were however, never good enough to take it yourself or keep it for that matter. You buy districts and pay other to fight for you. I should know cubs is a big fan of your isk.
Why do you even play PC?

STB has had it's fair share of PR's issues. I couldn't even keep up with them myself but what I can tell you is it all started out in MAG over 5 years ago as a group of 6 or so guys under the tag [MDB] were wanting to have fun and beat up on Valor and Raven scum. Look where we are now!
STB wouldn't be STB without it's trash talking. manic, egotistic leaders who hold this thing together like superglue. These people are immense (do not mess with them) and passionate about what they're doing! These are the guys who give up ridiculous amounts of energy to uphold STB's reputation and breathe life into the corp name. They stayed up til 2am and later drinking and dunking hostiles, they've witnessed the rise and fall of MAG, they've duck hunted repeatedly and have always bitten off more than they can chew.
It was a momentous day when Quickgloves stepped down but I have no doubts whatsoever that Ragewardog can't fill Quickgloves boots. I've watched competitor "elite" alliances/corps/clans rise and fall over the years but at the end of the day STB was still there.
Arguably, STB has been one of the most influential clans for MMOFPS games out there and has generated threads upon threads of lolz, amusement and trash talk. Also possibly one of the biggest content generators out there? *Discuss*
P.S I'm looking forward to playing with some of the old timers again soon.

STB got their drama out early in the open beta, for the best. After the early days of PC vs the imps things seemed to clear up. Any corp that has fought in the tourneys, through PC wars, and is still around deserves props. Tons of our Durrty boys got their start in STB, myself included.
RND KEQ GAC WTF STB. I'm definitely forgetting a few. Tons of good people out there. I always rooted for synergy but I haven't seen them in ages. |
