Currently, in order to get a decent passive scan, you have to sacrifice four slots, making your suit gimped anyway so that scan is useless.
If you could instead just use two slots for the same effect, that would make passive scanning actually viable.
It would also make precision enhancers/range amps more popular, as how it used to be is "well, I can put on a precision enhancer, but it's useless without a range amp", and vice versa.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

I support this. Also the precision and range skills should also be combined since they're the prerequisites to the modules.

Trust me, I'm all up for scout buffs, but the whole point of a high slot scout is to have better precision than the other scouts, making it the anti scout scout once we get cloaks and the range amplifier the anti medium suit that can track down normal targets.
At least I think the division is there for that reason, if you want better combinations just tweak the stats on the suit, but I do believe that the current separation is there for a reason, so at the moment I am against combing them.

Scouts have no definitive roles yet. No point in arguing about it, heck CCP themselves said that once the racial line up is out, scouts will have their roles rebalanced completely.
This isn't specifically a scout buff, rather a modulethatistotallyuselessexceptforwhenusedwith3903493049bonuses buff.

Quote:The Scout role will get very high PG/CPU bonuses to fitting cloak equipment, making it just about the only role that can feasibly fit a cloak field without having to sacrifice the rest of its fit. Individual race skill bonuses will create opportunities for cloaked scouts to scan further and longer than other dropsuits, to have less GÇ£shimmerGÇ¥ as they move, and have lower innate scan profiles so that they can be visually and electronically invisible. These should help create more useful assassins, intel gatherers, and saboteurs. And in time, the introduction of additional Scout specializations will be added to further push the boundaries of the little Light Suit That Could.
There is a lot in that statement, seems they are shifting things around

I mean if you noticed, the profile reduction is listed under as a racial bonus instead of the general scout bonus. In addition it mentioned scanning further and "longer" as a racial, which I found rather interesting because that could mean multiple things.

But I think combining these modules will only do good.
Like with the cardiac reg, used to be two separate modules, each relied upon each other too much so they combined those.
Now we have a similar situation, where Range amps and precision enhancers rely on each other too much, so it's either both or none, and it gets rather expensive slots wise.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Even when you use a range amplifier its marginal at best. A complex range enhancer gives you a 35% increase? Most suits except for scouts have 10m scan radius. That's a whopping 3.5 meter increase, underwhelming to say the least. I think scouts got a buff to scan range so they may get more than that but that really only helps them . Hardly helps you unless it actually detects a scout trying to stab you in the back. I also really think you should just get rid of the range enhancement skill and just combine it with scan precision. Precision and range synergize wonderfully because what point of having a high scan precision when it only works when people are within 10 or so meters. Heck i can stand just outside of that and play darts with your head at that range. Rename the skill to electronic detection or something.

I like the idea as long as it's implemented in a way so that we don't find medium suits with range/precision as good as scouts after slapping on a few modules. The medium frames have so many more slots to spare!!
I'd like to see scouts get their base range to 20, precision and dampening to 40 first..... in that case a combined module would make me less nervous.
