I've been a long time dust player, from the early days of the open beta, and I have seen this game go from a work in progress to a decent (to sometimes great) MMO FPS, but this latest release is a joke.
Great innovations with the FW and friendly fire are what made me stick around for this latest update but the more I play the less fun I have. I know this forum is full of the OP topic with... name any weapon, but jesus are these new weapons OP. The RR and CR both seem to have no downsides at all. When a Scrambler rifle has less range than the new weapons fully auto variant then there is a disconnect somewhere.
Now, I'm not going to sit here and attack CCP because they do have a great product here, but when you release updates in such a short time frame this is what happens. I would rather have a balanced game with weapons that counter each other rather than have a bunch of useless guns and 4 "must use" weapons to be able to be competitive.
Also Tanks. I don't even need to explain how ridiculous that change was.
I'm done. I'm jumping on the band wagon out of here because I would rather play a free to play game like Team Fortress 2 where updates are not rushed and balance is not after thought.
CCP hire someone from Valve to teach you how to do multiplayer correct because when you choose to beta test with an update it tends to **** people off.

I think that's when it first started going bad.

Regardless of how long someone has played this game doesn't change the fact that this update is unbalanced. I can see your point of "new guy crying" but I have played this for enough time to get around 13,000,000 SP, so I may not have the most time with the game but enough to have a solid opinion about the changes that have happened. |

I'm still keeping this account because I feel I spent so much time on this game that it would be hard to just throw it away like that. I do think CCP is a decent company and may be able to fix this so who knows I may even be back at 1.8 but it would have to be a true overhaul on how they consider balancing. |

Why make an I quit post if you are not quiting?
The only way to win at dust is to biomass your character and never look back.

Yea, don't delete the character, just take a break. This patch has filled me with both joy and much rage. There is so much wrong with the approach to everything they're doing, but at the same time it sort of works still. I don't know, if I wasn't poor I probably wouldn't be here, but here I am.

I had a look at 1.7 with useless MD, SL, scouts, nova knifes, proxymines, hmg, laser and now useless MK-0.
Delete.
Playing Kingdoms of Amalor till patch 1.8
And if patch 1.8 is bad then Dragons Dogma till 1.9
The problem is if we get Borderlands 3(PS4), Witcher 3(PS4) and Fallout 4(PS4) in late 2014 then Dust is not going to get any playtime from then on until it maybe moves to the PS4.
Back to Kingdoms of Amalor.

This is my point, 7 different weapons with no reason to use them expect for the challenge. I tried using the SCR assault and even that (with 1.7) was useless. |

I feel, in a way, each update is almost a different game so who knows how much they are going to stick to the feel of 1.7 from future updates. The point with this post is to not suck my own **** and show off that i'm leaving but to bring attention to the fact a major overhaul could bring back so many that feel the same as me. |

The early days of the OPEN beta. I have around a year of playing under my belt and I think I do remember briefly playing the CODEX way before the graphics update
But once again, you don't need to be a veteran player to realize a game is broken. |
