Right now, when a new player starts up Dust he is asked to choose a race, making him think this game is centered around racial gameplay. Then he goes to battlefinder and sees Faction Warfare, which based on the fact that he just chose a faction for his race leads him to believe that is the main gamemode. He then chooses it and doesn't even realize how FW works or that he didn't specify which faction he wanted to fight for.
So instead, how about the first time someone chooses Faction Warfare from the battle finder, a notification pops up stating that there is no ISK gained and instead Loyalty Points and also that friendly fire is turned on. Once he accepts this notification, immediately pop up the options for him to specify exactly which faction(s) he wants to fight for (I swear a lot of new players don't know how to do this). Then after that, it is saved in your settings and resumes to work as it does now, and you can still go back into the options and change which factions you want to fight for.

I sold my wife and kids to the Amarr for isk, its a valid tactic.

But by the way I am not posting for likes, I am posting because there are serious issues that need to be addressed. If you are going to do FW, you should understand the differences between ISK and LP, that FF is turned on, and that there is an option to select which factions you fight for.

Factional warfare should be locked right when you choose your race imo. Sure, this would disable the ability to fight for a second faction but whatever. Buy the isk variants lol

I know and I totally agree.

Absolutely not. A lot of people don't understand the races when they pick their bloodline, so it's not fair to them.

Mercenaries don't fight in FW then, you have pub matches to be mercenaries, and PC. FW is for loyalists.
Plus no one acts like mercenaries in this game anyway or we would have people selling squads and corps for ISK for a set time, charging realistic prices and working to set up a mercenary market.
We don't, its corp out of itself, not mercenaries.

Totally agree, I'm sure ccp has taken note because they'd have to be silly to not have, and using the word silly is being incredibly reserved 
Surely they are listening to the most well known fw crew.

I honestly am not sure if CCP has taken note, because I've been shouting this into their ears for over 3 months now since 1.4 when FW queueing was added.
