(I'm pretty much copy-pasting this from my post on GD, so that it appears in the appropriate section.)
The new FF mechanic is over engineered. The ban till downtime is over the top as well. I would have loved to see a system similar to Ultima Online implemented:
- Remove the damage threshold, and keep the reporting system. - If you get reported enough, you become red to everyone (or yellow, idk) - while red, you lose the ability to spawn back in once killed, resulting in the end-game stats screen. No LP for you, your dirty traitor. - Once you're out of match, make the ban 30 mins per team kill you made over the limit.
This allows people to actually have to deal with TKers on their own terms. More player control is a good thing. If the TKer is particularly good, it could be game changing, which is okay. This is a CCP game after all, isn't it? This is also less of a punishment for those who kill others on accident.
The damage threshold system, I imagine, was intended to prevent people from dealing almost lethal damage to friendlies, putting them in danger. This could potentially become an issue with this proposal, but I think it's a small enough issue when this would remove a lot of the crazy side effects that are currently happening with the damage threshold system. |

I did come on the forums to suggest a vote-to-kick option that becomes available once a player hits 3-5 team kills, with 6 votes resulting in a kick.
Anything other than this stupid BS we got right now which sees me getting kicked everyday even though I'm so overly cautious that I barely do anything but camp.

Solution: Also allow punishment via the playerlist and give a player a mark whenever he gets a TK or causes X amount of damage... Though perhaps the playerlist voting should be scaled back a bit, allowing the victim of the TK to have the most say in the matter. |
