Yeah, I'm thinking there needs to at least be a pittance of standing gain for being on the losing side. Even as low as 15.
I was getting my ass handed to me by Cubs and Kain today multiple matches in a row. Decided to stick out the matches anyway, but found myself wondering, "Well, why? I know exactly how this is going to turn out."

Anyone with a sever logi or a raven assault can put those bad boys to good use in FW.
Proto skilled out you get, in the logi's case, +5HP/s Armor rep and +25% hacking skill.
Then toss on BPO modules with the skills maxed out and all for free. -0 isk and only +LP

I never said you should be rewarded for losing. I said there is no motivation to stay. there is a difference.
"If you go AWOL while contracted by the militia you will lose 450 LP"
qualifies as motivation not to leave a match just as easily as any incentive would.
CCP would need to make sure there is a difference between leaving a match early and being disconnected or signed out of psn though.
