Ever heard of base lining, I do it all the time, and very few people ever realise I am a cloned soldier.
As to feelings, of course we have them, we are still human after all.

Killing machines and people are not mutually exclusive, in fact the most successful monsters and perpetrators of evil (Amarr) are actually people. The fact that you would ask these questions is indicative that you are indeed person with feelings; no reason why we wouldn't have emotions, the emotion centers of our clone brains are not disabled.
If you transfer your consciousness to a body with a different face, you can find a new identity. I'm using this method right now... but not for anything as benign as a normal life (hint: KABOOM!). If you want the identity of someone who already exists, find someone you believe deserves to die, have him killed, dispose of the body, clone a new body from one of his/her genetic samples made with a sleeper implant, and transfer consciousness to that cloned body.

I've spoken to all sides of this debate at some point. It's amazing how few capsuleers have ever actually gotten a chance to speak with a rational rapid-cloning mercenary before. I mean, obviously there is the vocal minority that insists on upholding the stereotype that we are all psychopathic killers. These few bakas only feed the belief that we are nothing more than cannon fodder for the demigods cloaked in their massive starships.
Yet, after exchanging some heartfelt sentiments over public comm links I am proud to say that I've managed to contribute a little to ending this negative view of our kind. I adequately took the time to not only explain the reasoning behind our existence, but went the added path of bantering about the elements that make us soldiers just as "human" as they are. Whatever we are, we still feel. We have imperfections. We fear, and love, and grieve, and make friendships with anyone willing to show us kindness.
I guess what I hope most would come out of talks like this is for capsuleers seeing individuals going "514" as less of a status quo and more of a diagnosable condition that can be cured if we can adjust our views on how we soldiers operate.

Blasted myopic fools. And there lies the biggest issue of our time. We can't eliminate the Amarr, but we can't allow them to expand.
