To be clear, I just started today and I fought for the Gallente, so my view might be a little skewed.
Pros: FF means people are more careful (mostly) Far less Proto gear, cheaper average fits means less frustration when killed. Loyalty store allows for a nice payout to those who like to RP a particular faction. Loyalty store also makes it easier to try high level things without Aurum Booster prices are great, nice idea to keep monetization out of particular gear. (future market changes?) EVE support gives a very apparent advantage. More incentive to win. Salvage
Cons: TK system is a little drastic, people are treading softly but are being kicked for unkown or ridiculous reason. Paranoia creeps in when accidental damage or TKs are done. Standing increase is bugged. Orbital TKs punish those who call it wrongly but rewards the pilot who drop it? No shared risk/reward. Scotty SCOTTY SCOTTY!!!!! The lack of player market makes capitalizing on salvage and LP minimal.
It's only day 2 but I had fun playing. The TK issues seem to be the biggest problems. The OB setup is great. I had one match where we had it, and one match where the enemy did, and the rest there was neither. Having it change from match to match makes it less predictable, but with the added risk of TKs they aren't used like they are in pubs so they aren't spammed. I haven't ran into any griefers so I can't comment on that.
I hope the Caldari step up their game, you've got friends in the sky, and it's much easier to get into a match when someone's on the other team.

I don't think it's reasonable to punish the pilots (who have no control whatsoever over their target) for bad strike calling. Additionally, they are at risk - The beacons are very open to attack.

Do the merc who drop it still get points for the OB? If so I think it's fine, I'm not for punishing pilots with poorly called OBs.

Okay I redacted that part. But I think there should be some form of fogiveness for OBs if there isn't a proper warning.
