Off Map Support is fun because everyone loves blowing stuff up. What if we had more options?
Scanner Sweep (Targeted 100m radius, 2 minute GCD, 3 uses) Reveals all enemies in a 100m radius for 30 seconds.
Artillery Strike (Targeted 50m radius, 3 minute GCD, 2 uses) Powerful, yet random, explosions over a wide area. Good for softening up entrenched enemies or hindering an enemy rush on your position.
Cruise Missile Strike (Targeted 10m radius, 3 minute GCD, 2 uses) Powerful explosion at a specific point. Good for taking out enemy installations, vehicles, or just to makes huge explosions.
EMP Pulse (Targeted 25m radius, 5 minute GCD, 1 use) Momentarily impairs vision, radar, HUD, and scanners of everything inside the pulse. Great for disorienting an enemy before a rush. Wide area EMP flash bang.
Laser Strike (Targeted 10m radius, 10 minute GCD, 1 use) Near-instant laser strike from the Warbarge. Extreme damage over 10m area. Kill's em good.
Cooldowns - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Now these need to be limited so they aren't spammed. I hate how OB's are/were tied to WP's making them "killstreaks" of a sort. So for these each OMS option has a Global Cooldown (GCD). While the GCD is active that OMS option is unavailable to the entire team. Each squad can only use an OMS option a limited number of times.
Loophole Fixes (Because gamers gonna game the system) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Loophole Fix 1: When a squad uses an OMS option they are unable to use any others for the GCD time. This keeps a squad from waiting until the end and spamming everything "First we scan them! Then blind them with an EMP! Now suck artillery! Cruise Missiles! And LAZORS! Mwuhahaha!" So using the Laser Strike means you can't use anything else for the next 10 minutes. But you just summoned a Laser from the sky so it was probably worth it.
Loophole Fix 2: When you use an OMS option the cooldowns are applied to everyone in your squad. If you join a new squad, any cooldowns you have on you are applied to every member of the squad you're joining. This stops players from dropping squads then rejoining to juggle / avoid cooldowns.
Loophole Fix 3: Minimum squad size to use OMS options maybe? That way we don't have 16x 1 man squads running around? So you get 1x Scanner Sweep use per two people. 1x Artillery and Cruise Missile use per 3 people. And you need 6 people for the EMP and Laser Strike.
Summary - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - This system makes the battlefield more chaotic and a squad more versatile. Working as a team to coordinate OMS options will give you an advantage over a team of 4 squads just using them without any cohesion. By limiting their usage with cooldowns it prompts squads to make decisions:
"Do I use this now, or save it for later when we may need it more?"
"The HAV needs to die. Do we use our only Laser Strike and lock out our OMS for the next 10 minutes or can we get away with just a Cruise Missile?"
"Ok, they're pretty well defended. Squad A, hit them with the Artillery. Squad B, use the EMP Pulse on the survivors. That aught to soften them up."
Plus, more explosions. |

This is frucking genius! Wonderful loophole fixes. I'd only say ask van these be used by any squad or must they be from an Eve Pilot. But these are great ideas, Kudos! +1

So they are just there similar to cool downs in Online Java games? And if one squad uses them, it's cooldowned for the whole time?

Yeah. Using an OMS causes it to go on cooldown for the entire team, and also locks you from using any more OMS items for the duration of it's cooldown.
Example: So there are 4x 6 man squads (A, B, C, D).
Squad A uses the Artillery OMS. - Squad A cannot use any OMS for 3 minutes. - Squads B, C, and D cannot use the Artillery OMS for 3 minutes.

Squad B uses the Scanner Sweep OMS - Squad B cannot use any OMS for 2 minutes. - Squads A, C and D cannot use the Scanner Sweep OMS for 2 minutes.
(( 2 minutes later ))
* Artillery finishes it's 3 minute cooldown * Scanner Sweep finishes it's 2 minute cooldown * Squad A finishes their 3 minute cooldown * Squad B finishes their 2 minute cooldown
Squad B uses the Artillery OMS. - Squad B cannot use any OMS for 3 minutes. - Squads A, C and D cannot use the Artillery OMS for 3 minutes.

Squad D uses the Laser Strike - Squad D cannot use any OMS for 10 minutes. - Squads A, B and C cannot use the Laser Strike for 10 minutes
