So has anyone figured out the new FOTM? =P
Now that my poor swarms are rendered near useless (and my LLAV has been stripped away), I'm forced to scurry away into hiding spots whenever a former tin coffin approaches. What are some legitimate AV methods that don't involve bunker buster LAVs and forge guns? Perhaps, since I can't beat them, maybe I should join....

Yes yes  come to us. Join the legions of Armor confined for six months now spilling forth from the darkest pit of HE.....
....Grab a proto swarm, proto AV or flux nades (depending on if its an Armor or shield tank) and engage in CQC where the tank has more of a chance to run into something when he tries to get away. I'd tell you to grab a Forge Gun but...

3 Mates with swarms loaded into an lav which attacks when armor tank hardeners are on cool-down works.

Well you can try running a 6 man AV squad but with tanks being as fast as they are it doesn't really work in anything but the small ambush matches. Even then it's tough because while you're trying to take out one you've got 2-4 other ones doing driveby's that you have to worry about riding up on you for a gangbang.
Personally forge gun is the way to go. Get a squad of officer forges and there won't be any enemy vehicles to worry about the entire match. Probably could even fck them up with their hardeners on.
Never mind the president, let's overgrow the government.

I agree. Av is worse then before, but before it was OP. I WAS a tank driver, gave up when 1.5 dropped and really stopped playing when 1.6 came out. I'm back, and in my first night back i killed Duvolle runners, and a couple tanks. the balance is back in the game, but soime got used to the OP. Speed tank is an issue, but it was a mistake in the build that will get fixed.
Overall, get batter at AV, learn how a tank works, when to attack, and when not to, and don't expect you could take one down one on one. It is, after all, a tank. |

I am not going to be giving out tips on how to take out tanks.
If you guys can't figure this out, and it isn't hard BTW, then that just shows how much of a crutch the previous balancing was.

Tanks can be very easily killed by one person. Just not when they have their hardeners on, and in the case of shield tanks, not before they have used their booster.

tanks are hilarious now. I don't know if they're OP or not but I see tank pilots being more daring than before. last night I saw two tanks just ram each other and the enemy tank almost went over our team's tank. Neither exploded. Also saw a tank flipped over and stuck upside down for a couple of minutes before the owner decided to recall their tank.
If these are the kinds of things I'm going to be seeing then I'm ok with Tank 514. It makes me laugh. |

In close quarters, REs plus an AV nade or two seem to work deliciously. I got popped this way once. I watched the scout trot away, blaring his shotgun into the air. Longer ranges dictate the need for a FG, or careful timing (and a lot of patience) with swarms. I wish I was better with my plasma. =/

I did think before I said anything.
I'm both 6 million SP tanker/DS Pilot and an 18 million SP infantry.
I have a prof 3 forge and advanced swarms and I very rarely come across a tank I couldn't kill if I even tried. I tend to use the swarms for tanks because I can apply more damage mods and I find them easier in every aspect, for killing tanks.
AV should never be an easymode blow everything up button.
Tanks should never be an easymode I kill all infantry button.
Currently it's pretty even right now.
