I gave a sympathy like, but take heart - if you're a heavy and have a forge gun, you're one of the only effective AV setups there is now (aside from kamikaze LAV's). |

I'm happy for 1.7.
My scout had already reached rock bottom (1.6), so just about anything would have been an improvement. However, adding new rifles and removing installation scanning has made me a happy scout (well, happier scout).

I'm a Heavy so I'm definitely feeling the pain a bit ...... However I love the ACR (even though it also terrifies me)..... And I'll always enjoy fighting tanks. So I'm enjoying it .........my wallet however is not ....
No job is worth doing if you don't get paid in the end .

Vehicles survive AV now. I got new rifles to play with. The rep Tool shows everyone's health bars now. And remotes are sticky.
I am ecstatic. |

I took a half day off work and played into the evening. I love this update. My TTK and KDR seemed to be the same as before. I was only in one match that was redlined. The rest seemed fairly balanced and the combat was interesting and more dynamic than before.
The bugged super fast tanks were also funny as hell to watch run around.

How is a forge gun effective against a tank that can get from 1 side of a map to the other in less than a second?

Because CCP make an awful job balancing weapons after every patch? Maybe?
In 1 month 2 things can happen.... nerf for combat and rail riffles or buff for HMG and laser rifles |

Just put a rail rifle on your heavy suit and you'll do fine. The gun has a low RoF so ammo isn't normally an issue. And because you'll be using it at long range that extra HP you have will be extremely advantageous for you.

This will be the month of tanks and mediums with some racial variation of the same gun. I honestly love the update. I'm still in my UP minnie assault but that doesn't matter when I can mow people down with the combat rifle. |

I played 4 games last night to see if I could still play like I have been up until now. I like it. Things are very different with all the tanks and dropships around. The first game I played I had trouble finding another infantry type and when I did their combat rifle made short work of me. Situations were much more dynamic. I suspect that will change as people settle into their adapted play style but for now it is pretty refreshing.
My only complaint, I really don't like the blood splash in the hud.
