CCP WOLFMAN AND TEAM KONG DID AN AMAZING JOB FOR 1.7. Vehicles feel much more viable in matches compared to previous builds and especially dropships! It's like they took a huge leap in finally making them something visibly threatening on the battlefield. I haven't heard about too many playing with LAV's but from what I have seen with militia LAV's its great to see them able to stop and take an defense, while using the turret on the back. HAV's now can stand and deliver without the usual run when AV arrives!
This has been probably the most solid patch thus yet for Uprising. The only things I can look hard at to better what has been implemented are as follows:
Assault Forge Guns - Seem to still have a significant advantage against dropships. Most of the matches I flew in all day I was usually taken down by the Assault forge, giving me very little time to react and even make a difference to me using hardeners. The other forge gun variants thus far show that pilots can engage forge gun users rather than run. The range on forge guns in general still needs some looking into. HAV to forge gun range seems to have a great solid balance, but for dropships, and LAV's they still cause a before 1.7 issue.
Installation Turrets - These things seem to be getting worse for dropship pilots. Infinite ammo, while dishing out way more damage than HAV's. I think the turrets damage is fine, but their capacity to cover the entire field with its range is an balancing issue and will be a growing problem for arial pilots in the future. The AI for turrets also seem to be a tad too strong. Most of the time when I am thinking its someone manning the turrets its actually the AI shooting me from the ground.
Small Turrets - All small turrets in general have seen a huge improvement Team Kong. Though a single small turret does not seem to do much damage or alarm HAV users unless many more vehicles engage it. Currently having an Dropship and HAV engage another HAV makes for an effective strike. I was in a match where it took 3 dropships quite a while to take down one HAV user. It was great seeing such a good arial assault but in the relation to small turrets, even with the complex turret damage mod, It doesn't seem like they are punching through.
