I was able to 'successfully' attach an RE to a Gorgon in a pub match but it slipped off moments later, likely due to tossing just as the ship was rising. If you can affix REs to dropships, theoretically, you have a new way to deal with redline rail tanks in pub matches. Have several buddies apply RE's to a bottom of a dropship. With coordination on coms, swoop down and signal them to donate thus keeping the ship intact, yet leaving the enemy target dead or writhing in pain from the waves of explosive damage.
I am currently away from the PS3. I would greatly be interested in the outcomes of other people's testing on this idea.

That just sounds ludicrous! I'd imagine you'd fit this with an Assault Dropship to cover more of your bases. Yeah, I could definitely see coordinated strafing runs of infantry for the lolz!

I already intend to test this out once I get some FW matches in later, LP Gorgon is only like 18K or something, plus a few hundred LP. I don't know the rate that you gain LP at, so I'll have to get back to you on that one.

A well placed shot means you're toast.

Doesn't seem like it would work in FW, too much damage and you get kicked after all.. But +1 for creativity, I see no reason this could not be done in pubs. |

Seems like this would work nicely with a logi sniper rifleman. That person stays back, points our targets and waits for word on detonation.

You know, another thought occurs to me, if toucan get them to stick, how many could you get on there at once, and with nitrous could you crash the ship into the enemy MCC?
Not that the ludicrous amount of health would be effected, but something interesting to know |

Not if you use your own ship You still need someone to detonate, unless, what happens if you call in your own dropship, place you own RE's on it and let someone else drive? Likely you're going to blow up the ship.

Incorrect, any team damage including damage that is self inflicted counts towards the kick cap. |

Yes! I can confirm that remote explosives will stick to a dropship like glue, even if you flip the ship upside down. Waiting on the comms fix to do more with the 'bomber' aspect of things.
It is interesting how much the REs will knock you back if you place them on the sides. These might work particularly well for advanced aerial maneuvers when you need calculated oomph to turn on a dime.

Okay, here's something to test. Have a dropship pilot hover several meters off the ground; just enough for a merc to get underneath and place RE's toward the very front of the ship. Have the merc move away. This merc will then proceed to jump on top of the dropship via an overhang then position themselves toward the front of the ship where the REs are below.
Here's the kicker. (Pun intended)
Does the sudden change in force give the merc enough momentum to fly off the dropship 'catapult' a considerable distance without dying?
