"Long TTK is not fun if itGÇÖs the result of loose controls, poor aim assists or dance-strafing/bunny-hopping combat GÇô all problems that DUST has suffered from in the past."
How do you recommend I play defense? Armor stack my whole 2 low slots so I'm a walking **** tank? THE WHOLE POINT of the minmatar assault is to use speed to out-flank and out-strafe your opponent. You've desigined the suit to do exactly that! You gimped the CPU/PG because speed was supposed to be a viable tank. Now you've lowered TTK, increased hit detection, 'tweaked' aim assist, nerfed strafe speeds, and now are telling us that you'd like to speed be even LESS of a viable tank?
Before this turns too far down QQ lane, Would someone at CCP like to make a comment on "the vision" of the minmatar suit? How do you guys envision this suit style being utilized? I honestly cannot find a viable build that allows me to fill all slots, and perform ANY role better than another suit on the field...And you can't fill all slots with complex mods (Sans CPU enh) to boot.
My experiments have included speed tanking, prof damp tanking, shield tanking, Cx dmg mod tanking, armor tanking, etc. The only way to fill all slots is to make a suit that is not in line with any of the Racial abilities, if you speed tank both lows there's not enough room to run anything relevant in Highs. If you profile damp the lows, you can only fit 4 complx highs (you have to fit 2 enh damps to get under 28db). Shield regs, but again the fitting costs gimp the highs.
Please blue tags, some insight as to what this suit was designed for and where CCP envisions its usefullness on the battlefield going are most welcome.
And before someone says CQC 2x sidearm that is only viable in pub matches. Go into PC and get smashed.
And AV role? Yes prolly best suit in game 5xdmg mods. But a proto suit just for AV??? I can't believe they'd relegate it to just that. |

I got it just for AV, it is extremely useful for AV. So I love it in that regard.
Outside of that it is the best suit for an explosives build. Get an MD, Flaylock, Locus Grenades and maybe Remote explosives if you are willing to sacrifice your nanohive.
Unfortunately it seems the Minmatar Assault is a support class, IE it is not really meant for frontline fighting like the other Assault Suits. In essence it is a Logi suit that puts embraces the sidearm and does away with the equipment slots.
Even in the description it eludes to the fact that it is a repurposed Minmatar Logi suit. Kind of wierd when you think about it, the Minmatar invented the Logi suit before the Assault.

Also interested to see what CCP has to say about the Minmatar Assault, I mostly ran the Adv but Proto when needed. I sure hope it's not "working as intended" ATM. |

Recommendation: Use a keyboard.
The reason that strafe-dancing is more viable with a keyboard is because there is no delay when you change directions. An Analog controller requires you to pull the analog stick in the opposite direction, causing a slight delay in the time it takes to not only change directions but decrease and then subsequently increase acceleration in the opposite direction as the analog stick passes over it's axis.
The keyboard on the other hand doesn't have this mechanical error and you can instantly apply acceleration in the opposite direction with very little delay; causing the signature (and broken as ****) strafe dancing that people survive with.
That's the theory anyway.

How does aim assist have anything to do with strafing O_o?

Yeah we have to cover up our low eHP one way or another and fitting armor mods may help in front-line but kinda ruins the speed advantage you get. Speed tank really isn't viable as TTK is even shorter with less health and aim assist negates any ability to "shake the aim or dodge fire"(just look at how scouts are QQ and their shields have a high recharge rate and short shield regen delay than assault). Having only 2 lows really shows its shortcoming quite a bit in an assault suit of this caliber. You rely on shields but when you are inclose for flanking, are shields really the best option?
Also if the Minmatar assault suit is just a re-purposed logi then why can't i get 8 slots for my proto suit 4H 4L logi. I take 5H 3L configuration for proto min assault. I think the min needs extra slots to add to it ability to be geared toward whatever its role is supposed to be. Even in the description it says, "minmatar favor straightforward solutions" so having a suit with many modules allow it to be geared heavily into the role it needs to fill. However we may have to wait until all the suits come out before they make changes to suits already in game.
