With the way things are currently, should AV get points for damaging a vehicle?
Also consider the fact that CCP has already implemented a WP cap/restriction so abusing this mechanic will yield smaller rewards. |

It actually used to be this way until people found ways to abuse the hell out of it by ramming LAVs into walls for points, then repairing them for points, then dropping 26 orbitals in one match.
But yes you're right, a properly implemented reward system for damage vehicles is in order, as it gives AVers some reward for making a vehicle back off but not necessarily kill it outright.
I think back in the day you would get a +25 for doing a certain amount of damage, and generally you could trigger that 3-4 times before blowing the vehicle up.

After a day of fighting tanks I'm more and more convinced that this is all we truly need after the overdrive gets fixed to make thinks relatively balanced .... AV could then actively work together instead of competing against each other by nature of the very system.
No job is worth doing if you don't get paid in the end .
