Let's say it's a close match, the bars are neck in neck and you know that whichever mcc fires first will win it, is it possible to intercept the missile and prevent your mcc from taking damage?

Yes, if you crash your dropship into the missile you can save a tick of damage.

Anyone who has flown dropships for any real length of time can tell you that you can indeed intercept missiles aimed at the MCC.
No, the dropship stands no chance in hell of surviving.

I think the damage is still applied to the MCC.

Just to clarify, are you talking about the missiles that the MCC shoots or the missiles that the Null cannon ground objectives shoot? |

Oh, in that case it wouldn't even be worth your time.
You would die in one missile attack. MCC missile attacks are more frequent than objective attacks, thus the impact of your sacrifice is diluted.
It would be cool if you could sacrifice a redline sniper to be killed by the null cannon missile. |

I don't know why you'd need to specify though, I've lost multiple dropships to both missile types.

Let's say the enemy had 2 bars and we had one bar, but we had them redlined, I wouldn't mind sacrificing a few derpships (militia, of course) to ensure our victory.

Something else you may consider, you know how it takes awhile for a null cannon hack to upload and in the meantime it still fires at your MCC? Well if you can manage to position yourself, as infantry, directly on top of the null cannon it will block the missile (and kill you). So if you made the hack and the area is secure, why not?

The thing is though, it takes (i'm guess-timating) a full minute for MCC missile attacks to take down one tick of health. So if you go and get yourself blown up, you would have to wait 10 seconds, respawn, call in another dropship, and then fly it at the precise location that the second missile would shoot.
The second missile would probably shoot before you can even respawn. |

Certainly is an interesting find if it works. I have seen many PC battles come down to 1 or 2 ticks..

I intercepted a missle headed to the mcc with my face....no idea if it still took damage but i took over 70000. |

Oh this reminds me of a funny story. You know that medium socket that has the very tall building with the ridiculously long ladder? Well one time I was attacking this socket, and I saw a guy jump from this building, directly over the null cannon, and while he was free falling the missile launched and kill him on the spot.

I once shot a sniper on the enemy MCC, he ran away and a half dozen steps later a null-cannon missile fell from the heavens and splattered him ^^
Still one of my fondest memories.
