OMG, the list of "little fixes" needed in this game goes on forever!
FIX THE COMMS! https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=120222&find=unread All else can be talked through, worked around, etc if players can just communicate properly to one another!
Add a damn grid to the map screen, so that if ask a squad-mate where they are are, they can just say "I'm at C7 on the map" and I know where that's at. Also if I'm a Scout and I want the Squad Leader to know where to drop that Orbital Strike, then I can do the same!
The freaking clock!!!! OMG. It serves no purpose to have timestamps in the chat channels if the clock is hidden on the Neocomm! And then you end up closing the chat window just to open the neocomm to see the damned time! Just make the time permanently appear in the bottom left corner please!
Squad health bars! Please display the status of the shield and armor of each squad member across the top of the screen. If they are "on death's door" maybe put a count-down timer there so we know how long we have to save them. If their clone is terminated, and they are re-spawning then say so also. (And this ties into voice comms where you can highlight the name of the person that is talking when they talk on voice.)
Add in a "!{chat}" popup that would appear from the right side indicating that someone has typed something into one of your chats so that you can read it. {chat} would be replaced by "TEAM" "CORP" "SQUAD" "ALLIANCE" or the name of the chat as needed.
Fix the EQUIPMENT selection wheel!!! I dare you devs to thry this 10 times fast... Equip a logi suit with three different equipment items. Then try to equip each one in succession ten times fast.... RIGHT cannot do it without screwing it up like 50% of the time! Make the selection area for each equipment item BIGGER! Why the hell are the weapon selections even on there? They have their own button to swap between them! So why the hell are then needed on the EQUIPMENT SELECTION MENU? If you removed the weapons from that menu, then you can put FOUR equipment choices on there, with one at the top, one left, one bottom, and one right. Then no more problems failing to equip **** in the heat of the moment!
Add a "LOCK-ON" warning to all vehicles! It doesn't have to be directional (although that would be awesome if it was), but provide an indication that someone somewhere is locking onto you or has fired swarms at you. This could be a simple red test message on the screen or an audible noise or both.
Add in a way to decline a revive if you want to. Some idiots don't realize how dumb it is to revive in bad situations.
Give vehicle owner's a way to lock their vehicles and boot out idiots. The lock should be to: owner only; squad only; or unlocked. And it should default to owner only upon delivery. Being able to boot players ensures that you can lock it and get out without someone staying in and stealing it.
Fix the suit colors... Unless they are a specific varient designed for a specific NPC corp (ie. Dren, Black Eagles, etc) then make them more coherent/meaningful as no one can tell one medium suit from another and the best way would be by colors, but there is no apparent rhyme or reason to some of your color choices.
Smooth out the random obstacles. Like a 1 inch plate on a roof stopping movement, or a small rock making a vehicle crash, or side strafing down a smooth looking hallway ending up in becoming stuck on terrain.
Add a way to start shooting after activating your inertial dampener so that you can shoot back at people when you jump off a tower and they are shooting at you.
Add in exit times for different suit sizes for vehicles. Getting into the vehicle can be like it is now, but just make the Heavy Suits take like 2 seconds, Mediums take like 1 second, and Lights take 0.5 or less seconds.
Add a test to the drop uplinks to check for the hit-box detection area of a Heavy dropsuit when they are deployed. If the test detection hitbox encounters any solid objects (like a wall or ceiling) then have the uplink fail to deploy there. This will prevent soooo many instances of people becoming stuck on terrain when spawning and then having to suicide or hope for death.
Put a damn arrow on the drop uplinks so that newbs understand which way is FRONT. Tired of spawning facing a wall all the damn time.
Add in a way for voice comms to "listen in" on both the team and squad levels, but only "broadcast" on one. This way players can set it so that only Squad Leaders and EVE Pilots can broadcast to team, while everyone else can talk all they want to on Squad.
Add in "team deploy" so that Q-syncing is no longer needed. This is needed for BOTH Faction Warfare AND Public Matches, because if you don't then it will continue to be abused by the few players that know how to do it.
Add a short hallway to the merc quarters where the merc can walk to the end of it, see a large scene of some station hangar with eve ships passing by (much like the backgrounds in a lot of stations in eve now) and get onto a tram that takes them tot the battle selection screen. (Obviously, just selecting it from the neocomm would still instantly do this too).
Quarters: Add a way to sit on the couch or lay down on the bed. Add in markings for a pull out toilet and sink. Add in QUAFE and QUAFE ULTRA beverages to a food station. Make is so that I can walk underneath/through the holographic video screen that dominates one of the walls.
