The star was burning very bright on this planet, most of us didn't mind though, the pay was good. -Z- 70,000,000 was a good price to simply go down on this abandoned planet and recover some Jovi artifact that is probably not even here. I looked at my CEO as we flew our large but yet small hovercraft to an island and said, " So what's the situation, sir? "
" We got a contract from the Imperial Academy to get down there and find out what's causing so much radioactivity on the scanners in orbit. " replied my CEO while he was cleaning his Minmatar Assault Rifle and loading it with EM rounds.
" So we gonna get our feet wet, sir? " I said with a smile.
" Wouldn't say that to happily. " My CEO then pointed to the Island which was almost entirely submerged in water.
" Great.... You know I hate underwater excavating... " I said with a mad look on my face.
" Don't worry private, there's some kind of temple down there that has no water in it,- yeah, we don't know either. "
We got off the craft and started walking around on this " Island ", it was very soft sand, softer than most planets. I always liked coming to temperate planets with lots of sand and ocean. Reminds me of back home, where I lived on the shores of Caldari Prime. After searching in some strange jungle-like forest, we found a good area to suit up in our suits named " Aqua-Armor " by allot of Marine biologists.
" Sir, how far down is the target site? " I said.
" Eh, just about a Kilometer. Won't take to long, don't worry. "
Me, my CEO, and 10 other employed mercs traveled down through the blue waters, which seemed to have no life whatsoever. Then I saw a statue at the bottom of the ocean floor, the statue was tan and gold, immediately stating it was made by ancestors of the Amarrian Empire. The Statue was standing tall, with its left hand on its chest, and its right arm extended out before it holding some sort of cross shaped object. I don't know much about the Amarrian religion, so I didn't understand the Symbolism. We found the temple entrance, the entrance had some sort of force-field like technology which I had never seen before on any planet.
" Sir..... This is not normal is it? " I said.
" No its not. " Said one of the mercs behind me. " Its jovi technology, You can step inside the temple now, the field blocks the water. "
I stepped inside and was breath-taken by the beauty of the carvings and golden pillars. A long hall extended before me with statues of men with wings on their backs holding more cross shaped objects with both hands. We walked through the room and found an entrance to some chamber.
" My god.. " I said as i stepped inside the room with the foul odor. Bodies were everywhere and I almost left the room, overwhelmed by the emotions starting to overcome me. Children skeletons holding onto Adults. " I want to know what done this to these poor people. " I said.
" Look. " My CEO said as he pointed to a picture of a symbol. " Its a cross, an ancient symbol of our ancestors back where we came from. Its the symbol of their religion,- the people the Amarr owe their culture to. "
" If this has that old of a symbol... Which has not been found on the other Amarrian ships.. where are we? " I said.
" I know where we are. " Said a mercenary, taking off his helmet revealing his dark skin with scars carved like a canyon on his face. " This is one of those lost ships, back when the wormhole closed. Damn thing must have landed here. Such a shame the poor people couldn't make it out. "
We began to get the courage we needed to go on and see what else this ship had to offer. We came to a large room with a hologram like projection of the old worlds we left behind.
" Oh my god, do you know how important this would be to the Empire? " My CEO said. " They would pay us billions to give them this info. Look! There it is. "
My CEO pointed to a planet that had a beautiful atmosphere with clouds and green lands, deserts, and snowy mountains. The deep blue oceans and the one moon that orbited it.
" Earth. " said my CEO. " Its where we are from, originally. "
We gathered the information and headed out of the temple. Got on our hovercraft and went to the Avatar class Titan above the planet.
" Commander, do you have any information on whats down there? " Said the Amarrian Pilot.
" Yes, we found an ancient relic that has a map of the Human home planet. "
The Amarrian Pilot smiled and said, " Thank you all, you have found a temple, and a map that is sacred to our society. Though no money amount could buy what you have discovered, I will pay you greatly for your bravery. "
" No temple, pilot, a ship. A lost ship of the Amarrian Ancestors. "

Ok :D so, the point of this story was to show that DUST 514 can be used for more than war. I hope to be able to adventure planets, discover ancient relics of the old worlds, and perhaps even mine on planets. LONG ways away I know. But Dust will be around for another decade or two, so it is VERY possible we can see this stuff in Dust, or at least another game, but Dust and EVE have a story that is absolutely beautiful, but sad at the same time.
