Long range variant - fires the same as regular, accuracy after gyro stabilisation
Assault variant - cqc, constantly fires without any gyro stabilisation for better cqc crowd control.
Not an absolute fix but just a rough idea, I don't main heavy but my alt can ADV heavy with proto hmg.
I would love a dispersed cqc variant that could shred 2 people at once rather than pinpoint take downs that essentially allow someone a free kill while you take people down, one at a time.
Any other ideas welcome of course.

Or another fix: make them the cqc meat grinders they used to be in closed beta. I never ran heavy, but I miss running from heavies. |

ERM, that kind of what I'm trying to put out, in cqc engagements theres sometimes not enough dispersion, you shoot one guy in the face leaving others to freely mow you down, you can spray them all a bit by switching targets but any decent player will just SMG rush you as its not enough damage.
A re made assault variant with no stabilised shooting would give you the ability to effectively spray 2 people at once as opposed to just switching targets quick.
Of course if people prefer it how it is then the regular is still available.

It clearly defined then as long range or cqc variant, theres nothing stopping people using the long ranged accurate one in cqc (the one we have now)
I think it's optimal would need to go up though.
