for the last 6 months they havnt been able to see infantry further then 30m
why is it there mere sight of a railgun insights so much rage that 4-5 AV infantry instantly swamp it from outside render distance?
come 1.7 i will exact my revenge bad furry style, and now that i will be able to see you prepaire to eat a rail shot to the face :P
(bad furry was a better tanker then me, but i had better aim :P fear me infantry my wrath will be very disproportionate) |

You're basically sticking a banner over your head saying "I really really don't want to die!".
to be fair i diddnt go into the redline untill i had no shields left, you would be amazed what punishment 7600 shields can take :P |

i just LOS them when im in my python to be honest... they dont move much, that and rendering makes seeing a dropship over 250m away a stroke of luck or clever positioning. |

Same can be said of that tank, I can't tell you how many times I've been shot by redline tanks that don't render until I'm IN the redline looking for them
i dont bother looking for them, i can tell where they are based on where i am when i get hit + how my ship moves from the shot, then just deny them a target.
them sitting alone in their redline tank away from all targets means one less man on the field.
its more advantagious to let them live back there doing nothing then to kill them off. |

You're basically sticking a banner over your head saying "I really really don't want to die!". to be fair i diddnt go into the redline untill i had no shields left, you would be amazed what punishment 7600 shields can take :P no shields left after taking extreme amounts of fire from invisable infantry :P when i can see them they eat a rail shot :P whats more cowardly? running from an invisable enamy? or being an invisable enamy? If you weren't in the redline to start with then you weren't a redline tank. In which case what do you expect people to do but shoot at you?
its just kinda odd the hate that inspires folks to grab a squad of 6 and charge at a tank before it fires a shot :P
not only that dedicating 6 people to kill what is essentially a person acomplishing nothing useful (redline tank) is well... a poor use of resources... hes much more valuble to the enamy team alive then he is dead and repawning as infantry that might actually acomplish something.

Just the other day our squad killed a Vayu in the redline...poor bastard didn't even stand a chance.
We had 3 forgers all charged up ready to go, and as soon as our squad leader dropped the OB we all let off our forge balls, killing him instantly. I suicide dropships into the redline pretty often to get those last couple shots in, it's actually a lot of fun
i agree, you can always tell when they panic too and it makes it even more hilarious. |

They're only invisible if you're hiding in the redline. They literally couldn't survive 30 meters from a tank if that's where it was parked. Redline tactics are always the most cowardly tactic. It's like throwing water balloons out of the window of your bedroom at the kids outside knowing they can only hit you through a window when you choose to appear in it. If one would want to rail tank without being a coward, stay out of the redline.
so youve never been in a rail tank :P
they are invisable no matter where you are it has nothing to do with the redline :P
visual range is a crapshoot after the 20m mark they may or may not render past that.
while int he redline they cant see you they cant shoot you. they are literally dead weight to the team and are most oftin there trying to ditch the blueberrys out of the tank so they can recall and run on the ground :P |

relyably no
visual range on infantry has a soft cap at around 120m, and a hard cap of 200m.
reliably sight range is only 20m however as thats when infantry is 90% guarenteed to render (still not 100%)
a redline rail tank cant see you.
whats more cowardly, being a redline railtank that cant shoot anything? or being invisable while you kill said railtank if he leaves teh redline :P
you claim that its cowardly to attack when what your attacking cant retaliate, and yet thats EXACTLY what AV guys are doing to railtanks in the first place. |

I'm one of the most experienced pilots in Dust, and yet railgun redline tanks two-shot me before I can change direction / accelerate away, from across the entire map... redline to redline. I just find redline railgun tankers to be cowards and everytime I fly into the redline, take you lot down to barely any health before the timers out, you end up recalling the bloody tank. It's just cowardice.
ive shot you down before... in a python (as a gunner)

Either way, I have not been beaten in a purely air-to-air fight. Never. If anybody would like a try, hit me up with a time, que-sync into opposite FW, meet in the skies and I will shoot you down, without a doubt.
perhaps im wrong my memory isnt the most reliable thing.
i think ill just re-introduce you to xX Blackhole Nova Xx instead :P
did you really think i was a bad railtanker? or did you mean dropship pilot :P
because when i make statements about railguns i leave myself out of it and only base my info off what i see others do for the most part. and im not sure what you fly.... but you really should be able to tank 2 hits and NOT die...
2x jovians FTW for being able to change directions in a flash :P and the only thing that 2 shots my python build is a breach forge :P (compressed particle cannon gets close but i still have a slice of armor left) |

However I think your green zone (the enemies red zone) should become 20 second toxic once you start getting WP for killing out of it, at least if you are on the winning team. Also War Points should really only come from the war Zone.
Camping in the redzone is taking advantage of the PS3s CPU and graphics limits. There would be no safe zone in a conflict like this, at least not one you can hide in. So it is no different to using a macro or gimped controller to make an SCR into an auto fire weapon. It's using hardware limitations and actively exploiting them for gain. It would be like playing chess and having your queen kill from off the board but not allowed to be taken. There is a set of terms for that.
except the part where railguns cant see anything and cant camp inside the redline.... you missed that part. |
