I made this suggestion while squading with some good friends of ours and was very well recieved so thought I'd try it here.
As I see it communication in team chat can be very confusing and hectic, hence why we tend to stick to squad chat. The problem is that this closes us off to the other squads or lone players, any of which may require our help to win the overall match.
So here is my suggestion - Make squad leaders able to communicate directly with each other AND their squad at the same time.
Just to clarify; Squad members would communicate to their squad mates Squad leaders can communicate to their squad AND other squad leaders Lone players can communicate to other single players as normal + squad leaders.
This will give us a communication pathway to call support without switching channels or clutter channels too much. In effect everyone in a match can communicate to everyone else via their squad leaders. It would also help when EVE pilots come in 1.7 FW and join Team Chat as it says in the Dev Blog.
So, what do you think?

While I like this suggestion, there are some technical difficulties that could create problems - but could be overcome. So, one thing that might work, to help allow communication between Squads and Teams, would be to implement an additional (or change the current) "Push To Talk" option, where Squad leaders (only) could push the button to talk to the entire team (only while in a battle) and yet when not pushed they would only be talking to their squad members. Squad members would only hear what is being said in the squad channel, but the Squad Leader, would be able to hear what is being said on both channels.
While this, in-of-itself, could cause some confusion, an additional option could be turned on and off when a squad is formed. Just as is currently available, such as "Lock" and other options, there could be an additional option to allow this type of communication if a squad wanted this option to be available. Of course, "Lone Wolf" mercenaries would still only be considered a team member and would only hear that which is currently available in the team channel.

There's already a thread asking for this but I still think it would make communicating a lot easier.
