How do you feel about this?
Is it unnecessary?
Was just the reload good enough for balance?
Do you think it ads a layer of realism to tank combat?
Opinions below.

I believe some things will need a tweak, but I'll have to actually play test it to find out for sure

Yes I like how it also gives players more of an opportunity to watch their enemy and pick a time to strike.

The only thing i dont like about the reloading feature is that we do not have nanohives that work for tanks. without a single depot on the field infantry still have an avenue to refill on ammo while tanks would not. This will probably lead to more redline rail tanks who simply recall and bring out a tank with more ammo because it is safer to sit back where you wont be hit every time you run out of ammo than being in the thick of it with a blaster and running out.
The situation breeds gameplay that is easy to take advantage of.

hardly any of the tankers who are still going in will be using the supply depos where the enemy AV will just camp the whole game waiting for the vehicle to get close...
1. tankers will go more towards redline sniping to avoid getting camped by AV over and over again and use the recall feature to keep their investments alive.
2. AV will camp the supply depos waiting for tanks to get near and thus eliminating vehicle gameplay all over again.
either way CCP, you screwed up big time with the ammunition change, dust isn't ready for vehicle to have ammo, at least not until we have a way to keep AV from abusing the supply depos and a way to keep tanks from abusing the recall and redline features to rarely have to take a risk.

Dont get me wrong, i love the change. It sucks to have it without capacitors tho. The recall feature needs an update, but at the same time there are certain areas where tanks are lacking mechanically such as a lack of tank nanos, a lack of lock warning and countermeasures(sucks to have someone be able to lock on to you and you just have to accept it and never have a warning tone), and an annoying bug where the tank will sometimes turn the opposite way you are trying to turn. Many things such as rendering and the fitting situation are being adressed in a couple days so thats nice. its finally here.
We just have more to do to consider these things fixed. Also, lets hope this patch isnt littered with bugs and the balancing of the new vehicles and AV arent too skewed in practice.

I am not a tanker but I feel like they may as well remove all guns but the pilots. Because 50% of the time they will be empty thanks to random blues unless you have a squad mate who keeps the seat filled. |

They can remove light turrets if they wish, and if the supply isn't separate I'd scratch my head and go: wth

Not thinking about that = the product of having never built a tank fitting. Nice call
Maybe empty seats like that will put more blues on the field instead of farming off a tanker but I doubt it. |

1. I havent got a cargohold so i can store 10k of rounds for my turrets
2. I cant buy ammo
3. If depots are not moved on some maps its means i cannot access them
4. Redline rail tanking will be more popular along with recalling it if no depot in the back
5. No vehicle nanohives
Overall they put it in but not much thought was put into it |
