There is next to no cover in this game that works properly as cover. Low cement barricades leave your shoulders and head exposed, boxes leave you exposed from the nose-line up when you crouch behind them, the stationary vehicles on map allow you to shoot at peoples feet, etc., etc., etc..
You want to have a hit-and-run class, we need the ability to be in cover when we are IN COVER. Meaning if someone is looking at the place we are crouching behind, they cannot shoot off our skull cap from 10m+ from the other side.
I think perhaps holding "X" for all suits under a certain armor threshhold should have them snap to pre-determined points that are considered "cover". This doesn't mean going full prone behind the bottom tip of the edge of a stairwell, this means actually being able to keep your head down when people are shooting your way behind points that most people would agree are large enough to be considered cover.
When you are behind cover and you ADS, you immediately pop out of cover and aim over or around whatever cover you are in.
This would let low HP suits be able to properly use cover when they need to repp since they can't camp on armor hives like the current FOTM players do.
Also, with this, we need more varied and numerous forms of cover in all maps.

also hit and run classes(yes you cal assault) need less recharge delay and more regen
35 hp/s base cal assault, 4 or 3 second recharge delay, increase shield regulater % by 10% per tier(20% basic 35% adv 40% pro) |

Yes.... but this is a thread based around cover mechanics and usage. I appreciate the additional thoughts, but I'd like to keep this particular thread about cover.

this would be an awesome mechanic if done correctly but would require a major amount of coding. Anyone else get to the top 1k in rainbow six vegas =D

Hit and run classes are suffering because if scanning/dampening imbalance and short TTK. Fix those two things first instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

But I'm BOOOOORED! Poker Night 2 is only funny for the first few hours till they start repeating themselves... My internet is too screwy for Dust since this ice storm blew in, so it's either invent new ways to look at Dust or go finish platinuming Skyrim, and when I get into Elder Scrolls games I tend to loose weeks of my life.

Getting within 6 inches of cover then moving into a defensive position behind it isn't "auto moving". It's about cover working as cover instead of bullet shields for your shins.
