it take the fun of finding your opponent and flanking, with the constant scanner as of now the active scanner need to be QQ and that no the scanner is not balance . People keep telling me to just scanner them back, so that they can see me and i can see them that boring people. It just boring like waiting in a line for the rest of your life. Even scout can have a difficult time dodging scanners without sacrificing one of their precious low slot even then a focus scanner can pick them up even with two complex scanners. Also people keep telling me that the scanner take a toll on your pg and cpu, but i can recall that 85% are logi and the FOTM Gallente logi bonus fill that gap quite easily while still have the nanohives and duovile. I even made an alt to see how bad the newbies have against scanner it just turn them into a giant "shoot me sign"
But i know that these tryhards will try to defend it, but here one thing the most people use it the likely it will be nerf. From the history of laser rifle, tanks, callogi, flaylocks, Tactical ARs, and the future Gallogi, Duovile, Imperial, and active scanner
So you can't stop nothing
One day my shotgun will run out ammo
1.7 is the day if I fight or i give up

Reduce the scan range, increase scan range with skill. Also make it only work in the direction your facing instead of being able to spin 360 degrees.

Seems like they deliberately designed the spin feature in.
It should actually be EASIER, from a coding perspective, to make a weapon that does an instant snapshot of where you are facing, rather than have those couple seconds of active time.

After I started running a scanner I couldn't make a fit that didn't have one attached to it. It definitely helps and hurts you, I started relying on my scanner so much I wouldn't look around the map. I basically had to force myself to stop running them for a while so I could get used to searching for the enemy again.
I think the problem is that it gives too much intel. 16 secs and very little sp needed to get is ridiculous and the proto one is mind blowing. Reduce the duration on the quantams or make the 16 sec scan a cheap Proto scanner. Sorta like the core repair tool around 14,000 ISK and it makes it harder to get one but still reasonable to run in a pub. |

make the scanner light up light a Christmas tree to all those in scan range.
just like a submarines active sonnar - using it will give away its position to everyone else.
then its risk vs reward for the user. |

You either use dampeners and make a flanking fitting with lower total HP or you use armor plates and live with the fact that you can be scanned. YOU CAN NOT HAVE BOTH!
The game even tells you when you have been scanned so you can easily adapt your playstyle to it and stop running around corners guns blazing like a ******.
I use at least 1x complex dampener on each of my medium fittings and I rarely get scanned in pub matches.
I use 2x complex dampeners on my PC fittings. Even in PC matches the proto flux scanners are not all that common, so you should be able to flank anyone quite easily.
