Hopefully we'll see a rework of all the suit bonuses in 1.8
That being said, its really hard to say which suit you'll spec into without knowing anything about some of them.

I highly doubt it but I sure hope so, since they broke up suits by races, I have been waiting for the Cal scout and have yet to spend a point into a racial suit, and man oh man, I sure am anxious to finally be able to apply that the general scout bonus to my character.

Might spec into caldari scouts, depending on the bonus it might even become my main suit, but im used to the way gallente scout plays now. I like my scan range >.>

1.8 is pilot suit it in the vehicle rebalancing 1. Also new turrets like the laser autocannon , and artillery turret. But you never know the maybe more scout stuff.

Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

EVE Vegas 2013 they were talking about new dropsuits and said they weren't sure if they'd get it in for 1.7 or 1.8. That means 1.8 peoples! All aboard the hype train!

I did LOL a little, its true, but thats us scouts, we fight hard to make our suit work and are ever optimistic. If we weren't we would all be slitting our wrists after each patch notes release.

They have stated that they will add all the racial variants. Then they will look at re-establishing the balance after the suits are in. So expect this to be multiple part solutions.
First is the remaining suits.
Second is a lame attempt to quiet the QQ on the forums.
Third will be a thrash to solve some of the OP/Bugs/problems with the above.
Forth will be some harangue by a Dev that we should all quit QQ about the fact that it is two months later and Scouts are still ganked.
Then, that is the time to skill into Scouts. When CCP/Shanghai had done all the mods they are going to do. Thus you will not have spent your SP on the wrong scout suit as they OP/Gank cycle will have settled down.
