I want to see more people take to the skies in 1.7 . Join channel 1st Airborne to meet & talk to pilots for tips and help with flying, learning to fly, fittings and the like.
come on December 10th!
Sorry, but you won't see me there. Until they give me my Minmatar Assault Dropship armed with Autocannons of death, I won't waste any skill points on vehicles.

I despise the "auto level" training wheels CCP installed last patch, both because it removes any skill required to hover and because it screws with my ability to fly smoothly. It's always lifting the damn nose when I want a tilt to move forward.
I loved flying and tried to make it work for months but I finally lost faith. I had no idea that they implemented an auto leveling function already for dropships, and it sounds annoying if it's not triggered by a button but instead tries to fight with the pilot about what the computer wants to ship to do and what the pilot ACTUALLY wants the ship to do. Maybe it will get some tweaking in 1.7 or something, all i can say is i look forward to the new camera at least. Yes, you have to fight the auto leveler at all times. Let go of the stick and it levels off. I thought that Wolfman would correct the mistakes of Blam, but it continues to get worse regardless of who is at the helm. Instead of devoting time and energy toward making piloting a skilled occupation with a valuable support role they continue to remove player skill requirements and concentrate on DPS.
They're only on Militia dropships to prevent noob pilots from crashing as much. Skill into a standard.

I fly on my main. I'm on that channel. Operative 1174 Uuali. I'm always looking for someone to gun for too. I'm up to flying real low and crashing because I get too enthusiastic. Still practicing with ADS.

Flying is still fun; sure there are issues. but its a useful and enjoyable way to play the game. See a few new names here so check my channel in my SIg and see the issues and some training.
1st Airborne has some great pilots and some new ones, but we squad and win or fail together. ALso squad with me and you awesomness will likely end up in a video (fails too I am afraid)
