I came to the realization a couple weeks ago that Minmatar Assault has the least amount of utility in this game, and with the impending shield nerf, even less. So I've started speccing into Amarr Assault, and what a nice suit...the amount of PG and CPU is refreshing. I'm at ADV now, will have proto next week....to all you amarr users, what do you like to run?
After being squishy as hell in my minmatar, my initial build is 2x Complex dmg mods, 2x enh arm plate, imperial SR, ishukone SMG.
I also have the 2x Complex dmg, 1 x basic armor, 1x Complex Kin Cat, Elm-7, m209, m1 locus.
What styles/situations do you find this suit most beneficial? |

At the advanced level it is the perfect suit. Proto is not really a step up, more of a sideways leap. |

this doesn't cap out the cpu or pg but is a nice fit to run for pubs or FW

@xero I'm at 28.5mil sp with a lot of it invested in CPU and PG modifying skills

Should have gone Minmatar Logi.
ADV gives you the same slot loadout as the Amarr Assault at proto plus
-2 more equipment
-3hp/s passive armor regen
-more cpu/pg
-slightly faster movement speed
Only downsides are less base hp, no sidearm, and a bit more expensive to fit. I can make a shield fit minmatar logi that is 10x better than the minmatar assault.

Ha true, but I went into assault because it only makes sense that an assault suit should do the slaying. I like to be on the front line killing, or in the shadows running around. The Minmatard suit really just can't do anything effectively with its cpu/pg handicapped. The incoming logi nerf 'should' help keep logis as support and stop the crossover as well. |

Another great factor for the Amarr Assault suits is since they have equal values for shield and amor, you can tank either way. This opens up your lows for range amplifiers, biotics, profile dampeners, plates, or reppers.

For sure, bro. We will hook up soon. Look for me in corp chat. Mainly a distance player, but the scanner allows you to be more aggressive, which is exactly my playstyle. I'm always on the hunt.
Had a blue dot logi follow me around an entire match, repping me. His exact words were "Lea does not stop moving!" He got soooo many guardian points off of me. Lol!

I found some enjoyment with the following ADV suit:
1x Complex Shield extender
1x Complex light damage mod
1x Complex reactive plate
1x Complex profile dampener
1x CRW-04 Scrambler Rifle
1x GN-20 Flaylock Pistol
1x Stable Uplink
I don't have fitting skills maxed, so there's stuff to optimize, but it's neat being able to go below those pesky A-45 quantum scanners. |

I have 500k SP saved up for the rail rifle, that plus range amplifiers is gonna make my Amarr Assault suits (adv and proto) amazing.

Actually, you get 5HP/s armor regen
And actually if you dual tank you can get some pretty high shields and 624 armor at the same time.
I've yet to be WTFPwned by SCRs when I'm wearing my Minlogi.

There is no need to add 'if you don't use sidearms much'. There is no point anymore period with TTK so low, and cpu/pg gimped to take advantage of any "strength" it is supposed to have.
Even a sidearm in CQC is useless, b/c you have to flank to do that. The only way under proto scans is to use 2 Cx damps and burn all your lows, again negating the speed boost (7.4m/s base doesn't mean **** anymore). It just isn't enhanced to capitalize on any play-style at all right now. |

there wouldnt be much point for me however who spams laser weapons and smg both would be ideal good thing ima have em both to proto soon |

Yeah, that's right - there's no tank really. Not for the faint of heart. I've just decided that with the rise of brick tanking and such a low TTK in general - I've found it easier to focus on not getting shot in the first place and equip myself to just take out as many foes as possible. The speed mod and scanner is key - scan often, know the enemy position, and use speed to flank. My next step is to experiment with double KinCat's and ditch even the regulator.

Adv assault suit - HP +800
Adv Scr
2x complex shield ext
2x enh armor plates
M1 grenades
Pro uplinks
No sidearm.
As soon as my opt fitting is high enough I can upgrade the armor plates to complex.
This allows me to guard my uplinks and have my team flank as they spawn. This fitting is best for holding positions and charged shooting enemies so teammates can push. Keeping distance and lots of cover make it hard for enemies to overwhelm my position.
