(continued in the proper forum from https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1570391) Equipment like hives, re's and uplink should have a bandwidth requirement just like EVE drones have. The total amount of equipment on the field would then be limited by the total amount of bandwidth provided by the suits on the field.
When a player switches to a suit with less bandwidth than the equipment he dropped on the field in the previous suit the equipment over the limit should get disabled/destroyed - maybe based on distance from the suit change/spawn point.
This could result in some interesting gameplay possibilities like introducing ECM jammers/grenades which wouldn't hurt the player but his equipment for periods of time, etc. Also we could have modules which raise the total bandwidth. |

Equipment relies on dropsuit CPU which hints that the dropsuit is required to at least deploy the items. Switching suits changes this value though. Creating a bandwidth attribute for the character with a moderate increase from skills sounds like a good idea. I suggest the bandwidth be by character though so that blue spammers don't grief by hogging it all.
One character shouldn't be able to deploy more than what one 4-slot logistics can at max skill with one suit.

So then we wouldn't have heavies spawning in scout suits to run links forward for spawn ins with their fat suits? I disagree about this being a good rework. Skill Flux, in PC you can take friendly and enemy links out all at the same time, the same will be true in FW very soon.

As long as it's effectively acting as a team quota so certain parties can't lag the maps.

You know who you are. So, destroying old links and hives that parties placing on home objectives where the fortifications have been placed would require refreshing when pushed back and would effectively mean that moving to outer objectives would be hazardous in the extreme for a team that depends on hive and links. I don't think this would help.

I'd consider logis having the most bandwidth and other suits varied. So you could drop an uplink as a scout then go back to the heavy suit and still have them up an running.
Fluxing doesn't really solve the problem that one player can put down dozens of equipment right now. |

I don't think this would help. Throwing down equipment should be used as needed, not set and forget for the rest of the match, as you freely spam more. Placing equipment should be strategic and we'll thought out. Yes it does make the game more challenging. God forbid you have to actually use your head to be competitive and win a match.
