Why have you stuck with your corp, or gone to the one you're in now, or why are you not in a corp? What made you do this? What is keeping you where you are now?
I find it interesting to know what people think when they stick with one corp forever or go to a different one.
(This would've been in General Discussions, but I figured I'd get more on-topic and better answers here)

I am with DDB because it is a good group of guys. We met in STB and broke off into DDB from there. There is a lot of talent in DDB and we are a tight knit group. We are dedicated to the game and remain very active in PC. We have weathered a lot of storms together and that has made our bonds even stronger. We have picked up people from various corps along the way and I honestly can say that I enjoy hanging out with all of my DDB brothers.

I created my own Corp because I wanted a safe place where no one is bossed around. A Corp that cannot be disbanded, where Members cannot be kicked out and money can't be stealed. In Greedy Bastards, everyone is his own boss and accountant.
Eventually, when PC opens up, we'll go for one District with nice neighbors and we'll settle there for good. Defending it like our home and helping our neighbors when needed.

I used to be in PFBHz. While with them, I had arguably the best time I have every had playing DUST. We fought against STB, Hellstorm, and the IMPS (our most fun matches ever). We had big dreams for what we wanted to do, and once PC opened up, we were ready to go.
After the sh!t hit the fan, I wanted to be a part of something that was bigger than myself. This was around the time TP was huge, and I had the option to join, but declined. I wanted to be with the underdogs (even though I didn't actually join a corp).
I joined the corp I'm in now so that I could play with a good friend of mine, and to get my game back to the way it was in Chromosome. The game has changed a lot since then. But I'm hoping that if I stick around with some of the best in the biz, I'll pick up on some stuff

My Loyalty was to DJINN Punisher. Still is, but that ho-bag got the Xbox One. Also, screw that current redneck leadership.
My chips are tossed in with AE for now. I like PC. If the corp stops doing PC I stop being in the corp. That's pretty much been the only consistent thing that's happened between each corp change

Pretty much yea. DDB has also been around for years in other games on PS3 which has founded the core group of players that make it up so DDB will always be here in New Eden.

tl;dr: I have unfinished business
I came to Foxhound with high hopes of playing a tactical role in a major corp, funny right? I ended up as CEO when the former CEO left randomly and left the corp to decay. After the last few members slipped from their seats, I finally took the mantle(I was worried that me taking the leader role as a newb would be too much drama but it was too late by then anyway).
I began developing it and bringing in players I've met in battles. A lot of them left, few stayed. Why? Because we weren't active enough. It's frustrating when you're trying to get enough members to have an active team but everyone's either leaving Dust or leaving the corp to play in an active corp(most that aren't even around now, mind you). A bit bitter, I kinda fell into a low morale for the corp but I marched on with what I had and continued to build.
Personal issues risen and I had to give my title to subordinates before it eventually went to Maxovrkll. Max lead the corp well and got us into many different PC battles either as ringers or on our own campaign. We had many active members but oddly enough our downfall was due to not putting in our lesser-experienced players into combat thus making a schism in the corp. As most executive officers in Dust know, you never put the greenhorns in your risky battles. Our players still wanted to be in those battles yet they weren't competent enough but then at the end of the day when we did allow for it, our players either didn't show up or were ripped apart. From there on, we started dwindling in activity.
Eventually we just started fielding small yet efficient teams and ringing for other corporations but due to the fact again that players wanted activity but didn't work for it, we couldn't expand and then eventually a majority of our players left or stopped logging on.
Now we're only left with Max, myself, and a few other low-activity players. I'm bitter because of the history yet I'm pretty pleased at the "Foxhound spirit" all the ex-players are instilled with. Maybe I'm stubborn, foolish, or actually perceptive, I still believe Foxhound has it's potential and I still believe that Foxhound has it's niche. It might seem like a long answer to "Why are you still where you are?" but it's important to understand the context of it all when I say, "I have unfinished business."

I've stuck with my corp because I'm CEO. Seriously, I made XMPLR because every other group that existed at the time contained elitists, trolls, and/or other high drama players which I've always thought aren't that much to play with. Over time, XMPLR has formed into a great group of guys that I enjoy playing with. I'm glad I don't have to avoid players that rage, attempt to establish dominance, or other immature BS behavior. Of course, over the time XMPLR has existed, some members have moved on from DUST to other things but we've somehow managed to keep growing even through DUST's seeming decline. |
