tl;dr: I have unfinished business
I came to Foxhound with high hopes of playing a tactical role in a major corp, funny right? I ended up as CEO when the former CEO left randomly and left the corp to decay. After the last few members slipped from their seats, I finally took the mantle(I was worried that me taking the leader role as a newb would be too much drama but it was too late by then anyway).
I began developing it and bringing in players I've met in battles. A lot of them left, few stayed. Why? Because we weren't active enough. It's frustrating when you're trying to get enough members to have an active team but everyone's either leaving Dust or leaving the corp to play in an active corp(most that aren't even around now, mind you). A bit bitter, I kinda fell into a low morale for the corp but I marched on with what I had and continued to build.
Personal issues risen and I had to give my title to subordinates before it eventually went to Maxovrkll. Max lead the corp well and got us into many different PC battles either as ringers or on our own campaign. We had many active members but oddly enough our downfall was due to not putting in our lesser-experienced players into combat thus making a schism in the corp. As most executive officers in Dust know, you never put the greenhorns in your risky battles. Our players still wanted to be in those battles yet they weren't competent enough but then at the end of the day when we did allow for it, our players either didn't show up or were ripped apart. From there on, we started dwindling in activity.
Eventually we just started fielding small yet efficient teams and ringing for other corporations but due to the fact again that players wanted activity but didn't work for it, we couldn't expand and then eventually a majority of our players left or stopped logging on.
Now we're only left with Max, myself, and a few other low-activity players. I'm bitter because of the history yet I'm pretty pleased at the "Foxhound spirit" all the ex-players are instilled with. Maybe I'm stubborn, foolish, or actually perceptive, I still believe Foxhound has it's potential and I still believe that Foxhound has it's niche. It might seem like a long answer to "Why are you still where you are?" but it's important to understand the context of it all when I say, "I have unfinished business."
