I personally skilled into the prometheus, a few tanks, armor and shield modules...hopefully I'll get a change to test out boost modules here in the next few days.
It has given me a very different idea of vehicles in general and just how expensive they are to to get into and such. I only have 2 million sp and currently use aur vehicles (bought a bunch when they were on sale last week), but it's still super fun.
I would suggest you spend whatever skill points you earn this last week into vehicles just for fun before 1.7
Obviously things will change in the update, but there have been a ton of things that I learned about vehicles that make so much more sense to me now that didn't before. On top of that I now know how vehicles handle in this game and how to use them properly...so by the time 1.7 is here I might have a better appreciation for the changes.
Anyone else doing the same thing?

I would also recommend spending points into railguns in 1.7
Especially if you want to actually destroy a Dropship or HAV instead of it always scurrying away before you can do something about them.

I starting training into Assault Dropships just before the redesign was announced. I raged a bit, quit flying them and then decided that was stupid and starting flying a bit again. Since then I've become decent at flying the ship around but still can't get more than one or two kills per match with them.
I'm going to put the 1.5 million that I'll be refunded right back into the Caldari ADS and hope that weapons are fixed. It certainly couldn't be me that can't hit the broad side of a barn.

This is what I did, minus I did mine as soon as it was announced. And I think I might spec into them again. I have a newfound respect for pilots, and, well, unless you are royally destroying my team or kill me twice, I won't probably pull AV on another dropship again... Wish I could get my AV points back. |

Small missiles are getting a nice buff to splash damage. Killing infantry will require no more than two splash hits, maybe three on highly tanked suits, and heavies might require four at most.
My only concern about getting my Python again is the squishiness it will have in 1.7.

CCP Frame wrote:Vehicles that are planned for removal will be fully refunded to you in both ISK and AUR. Additionally, we will be performing a full vehicle skill tree respec (and skill book ISK refund) for anyone that has skill points invested into the Vehicle and Turret skill trees (Vehicle Command, Vehicle Upgrades and Turret Operation).
This respec and refund will be applied to all players automatically when Uprising 1.7 is deployed.
You know there's this thing called reading/checking your information...

Like the OP said now would be a great time for anyone with a little extra SP to try out something on the vehicle side if you have been curious.
