"Added shield extender 3% penalty - stacking slows down the depleted shield recharge delay."
How does it work? -3% after the first ext?
If you don't want to answer here...do you mind adding it the patch notes pls. I want to get a feel of how its gonna affect me before it comes into effect to see how my fit is gonna look and feel like.
Its honestly not a real big hit not seeing why everyone is getting pitch forks and torches out. I use Caldari Assault...sometimes Caldari Logi but that is only adv but nobody counts adv caldari logi ....I dont see the issue or is the hit really affecting another suit that badly? its only gonna add what 1-2 secs of delay? or am I doing something wrong? |

Logic Dictates they'll be like the plates. All modules will have the 3% debuff.
I have poked the designer responsible so wait one or two.

Im guessing this penalty works just like the movement speed penalty on armor plates.
So first module adds a 3% increase to shield depleted delay. The nth module follow this model:
S(n) = 0.5^[((n-1) / 2.22292081) ^2] n = the nth module added S = stacking effect for this particular module addition
S(1) = 1 S(2) = 0.5^[((2-1) / 2.22292081) ^2] = 0.8691 S(3) = 0.5^[((3-1) / 2.22292081) ^2] = 0.5706 S(4) = 0.5^[((4-1) / 2.22292081) ^2] = 0.2830
Lets say you stack 4 shield extenders on a proto caldari assault, that will mean you get the following penalty to shield depleted delay: 3% * (1 + 0.8691 + 0.5706 + 0.2830) = 3% * 2.7227 = 8.1681%
Analyzing this further for the caldari assault with 4 extenders (8 s shield depleted delay): 8 * (1 + 8.1681/100) = 8.6534 s
You are only penalized 0.65 seconds on the shield depleted delay with 4 shield extenders. This is insignificant. The bonus seems to only be added to 'look good lore-wise' rather than nerfing shield tanking. Cal assaults are still gonna rock at shield tanking.

stacking eveside means 'after the first module' implying 1st module is zero, and 3% per module after that. |

Well seeing on the Eve side stacking extenders makes a Cruiser as big as a Battleship, you really didnt want your hitboxes getting bigger, this compromise is a small one in regards to complex plates, stacking 3-4 of those makes you as slow as a turtle
The Delay is a none issue as opposed to the way it works in eve

armour tanking scrambler rifle user talks down more shield nerfs.
/surprised
factiods;
basic plates give 85hp for 10cpu/1pg complex extenders give 66hp for 54cpu/11pg
scrambler rifles do 120% dmg vs shield
win mode;
gallente or amarr suit stack basic plates in lo slots stack damage mods in hi slots use a scrambler
tried it on an alt, it works. not a particularly challlenging way to play though. |

This is kind of the new flavor of the month, everyone is already doing this. Well except assault rifle users, which I think are still better than Scrambler rifles. |

Just to be clear: no, it doesn't work that way.
Stacking works exactly the same in both games. It means you get the full 3% penalty from the first module, and the penalty is reduced below 3% for each module you add after that.

Its probably a flat 3% per module. That's how the Armor Penalty works.

tried it on an alt, it works. relax, you are getting armour piercing rifles in 4 days.
Also, don't forget that we are forced to fit reports on our suits.
