Ive saved up 2mil sp with intention of putting them into proto gal logi and scan skills.
Now im reading many topics about how op gal logi is. And in my newb opinion(4mil sp) i agree. Logi out dps, out tank, havw lots of equipment, cpu, powergrid and better scan/resolution than all but scout.
A nerf has to happen eventually. U cant out dps assault and out ehp heavies without something happening asap. I dont want to invest in logi only to have it nerfed hard soon after.
Also there are new suits coming. With so few sp to work with, and no respec options am i just gonna sit on sp for the next year until things settle downa bit. All the core material released and biggest balance changes ironed out...any recomemdations? |

A nerf is likely coming, yes.
I would recommend going for a suit that isn't underpowered but that isn't overpowered either.
Amarr logi, Amarr assault, Gallente assault, Caldari assault are possibilities if you're worried about the nerfbat.

Pick the suit that fits the role you want to play.
Are you going for Logistics or Assault? If the former the GAL Logi is still a great choice. If the latter, then I would pick another suit because the Logi suit will eventually be tweaked to a more supporting role. |

It is my belief that the Amarr logi gives you the most versatility and diversity within one single suit

Save all of your SP till 1.8 drops in 2014.
Then spend it all on Minmatar Heavy.

Put your SP into core skills like shields armor CPU and PG so that when you get into a proto suit you have more than 300 HP and the fitting to equip better tank modules so that you don't turn into another one of these time to kill is too low poopsocks that plague these forums. |

Rowdy put it best. Buy up all your basics, get your CPU and PG up there. It will all beneift you no matter where you spend points after that. Of course, it isn't as glamorous as a new bun or suit or gear...but winning is nice, and outfitting yourself right is part of that.
I run a Gal Logi, got it to proto. I usually run the advanced level. It's a great suit and the racial bonus is awesome. I don't feel OP when i'm being gunned down, so I'm not sure what makes people say that.
Basically, figure out how you want to play and build your suit around that. You'll have more fun and will probably find that it's easier that way.

It's the only suit that can take my Imperial Scrambler Rifle and kill me without dying even if I shot him first...

i think the basics idea is a good idea.
When does 1.8 come in 2014?
But even as a newb just looking at the stats how can you not see gal logi is OP? Any setup you build with assault or a heavy can be beat DPS and EHP by using the gals superior cpu/grid and slot layout AND youll have equipment for repairing and resuppplying yourself
Theres not enough difference between assault/heavy EHP and gal Logi that the logi can overcome with extra plates and damage mods
A gal logi can use its module slots to be as stealthy or fast as a minmatar scout unless the scout/minmatar gimps itself even harder by putting speed/stealth modules on
Basically the Gal Logi is a blank slate with lots of slots and cpu/pg so that you can take it whatever direction you want and do it better than the more specialized suits

I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

any other vets agree with the assault statement? the other comments all say to go assault for different reasons. Or rather to go heavy since their broken.
