We know that CCP goes whatever direction they want and only listens to the forum when it comes to massive bugs that even few of those get fixed. So, why do we continue to try to make suggestions.
I am just curious about the mindset of the more active forum posters since they represent a pretty good portion of the active players.
Ill start:
I am mainly here to keep up with the general direction of the game and hope that if CCP ever listens then maybe, just maybe, I was one of the few hundred people that said it. |

I'm not a massive poster (posted for the first time today, I'm a lurker mostly) but I keep on top of the forums for much the sane reason's - I'm interested in the direction of the game, and the community responses to changes made in game/advice on fits//FoTM/forum trolls...

I'm here to interact with developers, to learn from others and to share with those seeking knowledge about the game. Along the way I hope for good debates and occasionally to troll the trolls.
CCP does listen when you speak to them in a mature and constructive manner. They may not act on what you say in exactly the manner you hoped. They also aggregate the opinions and then do their game design voodoo using information you don't yet know about. People also forget there is about a three month turn around from concept to delivery for all except critical hot fixes.
I've also seen one change go into the game exactly as I described with the developer literally saying, "OK, just committed the change." Yeah, it was extremely minor but cool to see the process anyway.

Mindset?:
First of all, I'm playing a GAME, I'm doing it because I like it.
If we compare a game to a car, I'd say I only like to ride it. No tinkering under the hood or doing mechanics.
I want to enjoy the game as a global experience; I don't want to see the nuts and bolts. That's why you don't usually see me in discussions about gameplay mechanics and balance.
I come to the forums to instill some life and comic relief when things are too shabby.

Because at this point forum PVP is more balanced than in game PVP.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

I used to contribute with numbers statistics and such but now I just result to correcting blueberries on the forums or trying my best to bring some common sense and sometimes lore correctness to the forums. |

News, information, a good laugh ever now and then. But most of all, same reason I always went to the forums for EVE, the community is something that makes this game unique and its why I enjoy both Dust and EVE Online. |
