If anyone who spends any time in a match gets salvage from the other side, and you presumably get 1/16th or whatever share of it you get as a fraction of the team, then if it is agnostic to whether I was there for the whole match or not, wouldn't it reward the people who might just jump from match to match over and over and over, just farming salvage. Their salvage income would be limited by the speed they can do this... |

Isn't your chance at receiving salvage dependent on your WP contribution?

25% of the salvage is taken from in match gear, then put out among the players that participated.
Edit: so yes it will be farmed

This pretty much. FW salvage is no longer based on random loot tables once 1.7 arrives. It will be based on who wore what on the battlefield.
CCP, thank you for hotfixing the knives. But please make sure they're at their full potential in 1.7.

Which Dev blog addressed the salvage system?
If you are referring to the new dev blog, it only states one team would receive 25% of the gear used by the other team, but doesn't address how it would be allocated.

I'm not sure if you play PC, most likely not considering the question, I assume it'll be similar to the allocation of salvage there: if you were in the match you get an even share.

You do have to finish the map though :-) so in order to farm u will need to kill people to increase the drop rate and finish the game. Ergo be usefull their for to farm u need to help the team its billrent.
Ie if lots of farmers dont help they will lose and get smeg all salavge

read the dev blog and stop asking to be spoon fed like a baby. You don't get salvage if you don't finish a match. |

Woahhhh there Crabby McCrabbypants. What devblog did you read? The one I read said nothing about finishing a match....
Quote:Salvage
Although this is one of the simpler changes being made to Factional Contracts, there will still be a fairly large impact on your rewards. Public Contracts currently use a system where items are randomly generated and handed out to players. Similarly, Planetary Conquest uses a system where 50% of the items used in the match are given back to the players on the opposing team. We are taking the system used in Planetary Conquest and applying it to Factional Contracts, albeit with a 25% drop rate.
In fact, I asked this last night to Nullarbor on IRC, and he seemed to think that salvage was paid out to whomever was in a match. Meaning if you left the game you still got some salvage. I think he was going to check on it for sure though.
I hate to toot my own little horn, but I don't think I could be accused of attempting to be spoon fed... |
