This needs to be answered as soon as possible to put many R/E users at rest or at edge.
Kasote Denzara wrote:If a blue R/E is purposely destroyed by an ally and it kills someone (a blue), who is held responsible? The detonator or the owner? This is a massive "need to know" thing for me at the moment, as well with the other R/E users.

I am more concerned with the orbitals, what if i have to orbital the point to win the match and i take out 3/4 blues (tactical losses indeed) i then get punished because hey people love to be dicks in games right?

You can see the blue dots on the map. Just don't drop the OS on them.
I know, sometimes that would make the difference between a win and a loss, but you have to look at that as a real-life simulation.
I am more concerned about griefing. Friendly fire is just a bad idea, in my honest opinion.

Those are going to be pretty limited no doubt, i still read orbital as the strike we now have, i went and copied it but i didnt actually read it :p But like you said, its all abot choice, do you kill your blue dots and win or don't and loose, such are the burdens of a commander.

Well currently if I shoot an enemy RE whilst my teammate is hacking the objective, they die and the enemy gets the points, so that's probably how it'll turn out here.
Whilst it will certainly lead to the wrong people being blamed for griefing, I suspect this will be a pretty rare case. I'm more worried that we will base too much initial feedback off the first week of 1.7 when everyone is trolling just because of the novelty, and force CCP to make changes to lessen the effects of FF when in reality we are reacting to our own overreaction.
Just putting it out there, guys. Keep your comments in perspective. Personally I would recommend to CCP to simply ignore the first week of threads after the patch hits.

What do you mean 'fix it'? If your weapon kills them it doesn't matter how it happens. Remote explosives being detonated by whatever means isn't much different than calling down an orbital on their heads.

Why change it? It is an explosive like the grenade, no longer can you detonate it blindfolded but have to stay close to the objective. You have the passive scanner as scout and can easily see if blue dots are close by before you detonate the RE.
We should just be glad proximity mines to not explode when a friendly drives over them or that blue dots cannot* shoot and detonate your RE. At least I presume this is the case as you cannot target blue vehicles with AV grenades and swarmers. I intent to continue using REs in FW. But will be a little more careful now before detonating them. |

Oh, right, THINK. I always forget that part.
I THINK I'll be careful how and when I deploy my REs instead of littering the battlefield with them.
