Will the new fac war changes really cut down on the proto pub stomoping in pub matches?
Those who use the "I've got plenty of ISK" excuse, the "where else am I going to use it I'm not in PC" excuse, and the "I've got the skills why not?" excuse have no reason to be running full proto in pubs.
This isn't about someone trying to limit your ability to smash people. Passive skills and teamwork already gives people a leg up, this is about not making it a hopeless situation for people interested in this game. Until CCP adds some proper matchmaking, tiered matches, or PVE it's important to ease back.
I love hunting new guys just as much as the next, but proto stomping is like fishing with grenades (core locus), and we don't want newberries to go extinct.
The Ellecon's come from a long line of Gallente. Tarn chose Peace. Tallen chose war.

I think it's a perfect plan except I imagine this scenario will happen quite a bit.

Hmmmmmm, Public Contracts or Factional Contracts? Wait a minute! I can play for my preferred Faction! Cool.
Protostomps commence!
Yeah, I hope they change the battle screen to make noobs aware that Factional Warfare is a bit more serious and go to pubs first.

There are too many noobs in fac war as it is. If proto stompers left public contracts and all moved to fac war it would only take a couple of games for a new player to see the difference and realize pubs are the best place for them.

I say the true Caldari doesn't care. FW pushes you to organize and to plan. Not to carelessly attack (FF), or to just randomly jump into matches. FW will require players who fight for their faction to use some of their brains and work with each other.
So while we may say, "oh protostomping will ruin FW", that shouldn't even be in our minds. We should be looking to FW to conquer, to work together with teammates and our corporations and employing strategies that beats any proto user.
Isn't the problem with protostomping involves people not working together to take down a red? 4 milita suits against one proto means one angry proto. We must work together. That just isn't sinking in with some of the community.
This is a team oriented game. Until we can drop our KDR pride, our "I'm the best and everyone sucks" attitude and begin looking at this with a wise warrior's mind, the game will continue to falter because of our bad choices on the battlefield.
If you're color is blue or green on my radar, it doesn't matter, I will by default think to cover your six. Not thinking you're just another stupid blueberry. |

Depends maybe in instant action it would probably not fw though since there is no matchmaking. I can see balance issues between one faction vs the other unless ccp is banking on the number of people playing two or more factions that fights eachother or two factions that are enemies to another are larger than players fighting with 2 allied factions or players sticking with one.
It can turn out like in MAG(with faction vs faction vs faction) where SVER dominated everything . The reason pvp games usually have 3 factions is prevent one side from completely dominating everything , but I believe it still is FvF and FvF , not a 3 way. I can players join the winning side the pretty often .

Those corps suck for the most part lol
Madness is the emergency exit. You can just step outside, and close the door on all those dreadful things that happened.
