With the requirement of Ammo being introduced in 1.7 i see a very bad potential for tanks/ds to be shut down for an entire match. With the ability to destroy ammo supply depots and very little in ammo supply crates. Perhaps you could introduce a VERY slow recharge rate on tanks and dropship ammo. LIke 1 round every second for blasters and 1 minute for rail gun ammo/missiles. That way they aren't completely shut down.
Arguement could be that you run as a logi with ammo crates. I agree every tanker should. However, if you burn thru your ammo and your crates and the supply depot has been destroyed (which i will most certainly do EVERY match im in) Tankers and DS have a way of getting some ammo.
Just an Idea. I guess you could recall that tank and bring a different one in.... |

You're correct. There does need to be a change either to supply depots or alternatives to acquiring ammo.
Supply depots need to be more widely available and more accessible on the battlefield. There are maps that have no supy depot at the home base and/or inaccessible depots on the map. I also think they should have the same up as CRUs.
What I want to see in the future is logistics vehicles fill this role on the battlefield. Same as logistics suit for infantry, logi vehicles will have healing and resupply capabilities. On top of this, the ability to call down installations (which looks available in the vehicle/orbital menu) should become a thing.
In the meantime, recalling your vehicles is going to be the easiest way resupply without a vehicle, but I'd rather have alternatives provided.

I made a post about this. I disagree with not being able to shut down vehicles, that seems like a strategically legitimate tactic to use. but the supply depots themselves need changing.
AR is underpowered, forge guns need buff, imperial ScR is weak, scout suits are slow, heavies are scary, and up is down.

Maybe now tankers will stop destroying any and every supply depot on general principle?
When I see a depot being destroyed, it's 4 times out of 5 a tanker. Perhaps with an additional* reason to not destroy them, tankers** will not just blow them up 'just because.'
* Additional, because the armour repair is still useful even if it's not viable during the heat of an actual firefight ** Tankers, being used to describe douchebag tankers who do not support their team and are interested in only scoring as many kills are possible. Not all tankers everywhere. |
