the AR problem isnt in stats, aim assist, time to kill popularity, ease of use or any of that nonsence.
its dispersian and kick
in most shooters the versatility adn power of the assault rifle is balanced by those two factors.
and those two things dont exsist in this game in any meaningful amount.
introduce true dispersion (not dispersion that instantly disapears when ADS) and increase the kick to normal shot burst or your shooting the sky levels and you will find the gun to perform just fine.
scrambler should have kick, but the least amount
then caldari rail next
then gallante
then minmatar have the highest kick (higher ROF and a tendancy to hipfire)
dispersion has to actually be a thing in the game as well, the fact that ARs become sniper rifles that are 100% acurate at their max range is a problem.
if you do this it will bring the AR in line with all other weapons without tweeking any other stats and people will still use them
they will still be popular and versitile
TTK will go up
they will still be the most popular
all it will do is increase the balance and skill cap slightly.
any other suggested change isnt really going to do anything to effect the real problem.

Anyway, in those other shooters you mention you die in 3 bullets. So....
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Forcing players to burst fire in order to have a steady aim would give more incentive to use burst ARs. I honestly would love to see how DUST would feel if there was more recoil and dispersion but I feel that this should have been explored in an alpha/beta test build long before DUST went public. |

the post a few weeks back about the HMG being "acuratly inacurate" showed us that CCP didnt even know that dispersion doesnt exsist when aiming down the sights

Already made a forum post. And a video.
Also have a video in that post showing the kick of the ASCR, asking why doesn't the AR have kick like this to prevent it from killing easily at 80 meters away.
There's a search button for a reason.
