After the battle is done and you have been paid. What do you do? Go Home? Do you have a home? Do you fight to defend it?
What is the fight for, the money for?
Madness is the emergency exit. You can just step outside, and close the door on all those dreadful things that happened.

Well ... as far as R&R goes, I meditate, study, and practice. I read a lot, sacred teachings and scientific resources (of the popular variety, mostly; I'm not scientist enough to make sense of the professional journals). There's a lot out there to learn. Lately, I've also been trying to find new ways to connect with my faith. I've been experimenting with traditional art forms.
Sometimes, I've tried to indulge in some Caldari pastimes: gambling, mostly. It's too tied up in material wealth for me to let it hold my attention for very long, though. I don't drink anymore, either....
Of course, I never get in pointless arguments on the IGS. Ever.
I really like games of strategy, though, and puzzles. I stay away from the more ... immersive, though. One world of illusions is enough.
Most of my money goes into equipment for the fight ... well, and a small art collection.
It has been a long time since I was welcome at my family's home. My new state of being would not improve that, so I stay away. I do fight to preserve the Achur culture and faith, however. We are not great conquerors or traders, but we have a passion for exploring the mysteries of this universe that is ... all too rare. It does not buy us great power or prestige, however. It does not make us strong. In the scheme of things, we are all too fragile.
The Caldari protect us; the Gallente would not. To defend the Elder Visionaries, the Achur faith, and the Achura, I fight for the Caldari State. |

Where do I go? Back home, usually. Before I go off to more contracts, I like to rest for a little bit with either a meal or something else relaxing. Occasionally I'll go for a jog or something if I feel like I half-assed my morning workout, though that generally only happens if I've overslept or some other ****.
What do I do with my money? Mostly it just sits around, collecting dust and giving me a sense of safety. Occasionally I'll spend a few million and try out some new gear, but for the most part I'm pretty content on saving up and giving the occasional donation to corps I like or other stuff. I mean, y'know, money is for spending and all that ****, but there's a time and a place. |

Where do I go? Heh. I have nowhere, no thing to return to. I just live to fight, not fight to live.
What do I do with my money? I just buy some new guns. |

the great thing is, there's always another battle. I get paid for 1 while heading to the next, and so on and so on until My merc requires regeneration, then the same thing the next day.
the life of a merc is a tireless, thankless job.
lucky I enjoy it ;)

I have taken to travelling. Last place I went to was a quiet garden world in the Federation, hired a personal shuttle, and the planet was accessible as I desired.
I have also visited the Achura Home world, the Khanid Kingdom, and recently some unexplored wormhole space.

I have no home, as I am simply another clone of a Great unnamed General. I pass my free time by trying to escape the hunting party wishing to exterminate my bloodline from history. I have recently visited my home, if i can call it that anymore, for the first time after leaving there at 14 to become a medical unit. |

As far as after combat, I return to my mercenary quarters. I retrospect on my recent battle, thinking what went well, what went wrong and how I can improve my performance. I restock my fits and prepare for the next battle. Sometimes I might retreat to my personal meditation room where I sit and think about things, trivial, methodical, philosphical, moral, anything. Sometimes I log into The Summit and talk with other mercenaries and capsuleers, or visit some interesting locale or festival. Sometimes I just sit in my quarters and discuss with my friends and corp mates.
If and when I retire, I plan to retreat back to my homeplanet and live there in solitude with all the ISK I have accumulated. I might even become an Idama.
