As a dropship pilot, my whole play style is about to be flipped on its side with the upcoming patch. Whether this is a good or bad change is yet to be decided for myself. However, the SP respec for vehicles is a much welcomed and appreciated gift. So thank you very much CCP!
On the other hand, because ive been a dropship pilot all this time, the few points I've put into other skill trees are few and badly placed. It is for this reason that i dont see why out of my 11.5m sp that i dont get to re-allocate the maybe 2m sp put into infantry.
If this is not reasonable, then i can accept that.
However there is one issue with skills that i have noticed and that is there is no undo feature in case you make a mistake allocating those points if done so in a rush. It would be nice to be able to undo that allocation within 1 minute of placement, or before the next battle.
also, the dropsuit command skill is only needed to be at lvl 3, yet the lvl 5 skill cap can be reached? this is a literal waste of sp which I admit i placed them into the skill not realising this :P could we get those SP points back too?

Unlike the forums there is no undo button in Dust, this is by design. There is no reason to rush into spending your sp thus no reason to make mistakes.
Mind you, we have all made foolish mistakes but we all have to live with the consequences and learn from these mistakes.

this is true. However I still want my SP that is going to waste to either take affect or come back to me!

While in your case, i believe you don't deserve respec, i feel that for those out there who:
Previously had vehicles MAXED, and didn't want to sit about with 4million SP lying about not spent, used it on dropsuits. Now they're being punished because that 4 mill SP could've helped them achieve the same level of vehicle operations as before, but now they're stuck with all level 2-3 skills because CCP didn't tell them vehicle trees were going to be SP sinked.
People who specced infantry, and now wish to throw their 14 million SP into vehicles wholeheartedly, have to wait until other dropsuits come in, which may or may not recieve a respec even then. (I am of this group)
I wish to take the 13/15 mill i have in infantry and sacrifice all of it into vehicles. Sadly, selfish people who state "i do not need any help, so therefore the needy are just whiners" refuse to allow anybody the chance to catch up with them, as they are greedy selfish fuckfaces.
So i do wish for a respec, as well as people who skilled into swarmies/laser rifles/anything else that was nerfed even though they used it the correct way.
Its almost like this- you like explosives, flaylock comes out. You skill flaylock, unaware of the splash damage and using it to direct hit EVERYTHING you come across. Flaylock got its direct damage nerfed because people used the splash too much.
Is that REALLY your fault? Did you have ANY SAY in the matter?
Nope. For because nerf brigade.
