Now as i love playing like a heavy, the main thing that troubles me is i'm always playing blind, in the sence of radar wise. When in squad, offcourse there is most of the times someone with an active scanner. But when they leave or no longer scan then i'm nearly blind again. And that's when i die from those pescy scouts, for there is always one you did not see.
So my suggestion is as follows; a scanner, that is thrown on the ground, But only scans like 10 meters around where it was thrown, proto maybe 30 meters. So not as far as an active scanner, just its immediate vicinity. Uses scanning cycles, so instead of pressing it to scan like the active, it scans automatically every minute or so. The cycle time, distance it scans, scanning strenght and numbers carried are different with each tier level. Offcourse it runs out like any other hive after so many cycles.
Atleast this way a heavy like myself can actually nearly defend myself against something i can't see. And since CCP hasn't shown us heavy's much love this year, it would make atleast a great peace offering. |

Deployable scanners should be a thing. It would be an interesting additional piece of equipment.
Of couse there should be a depoyable dampener as well (snipers and even minja scouts would love it (a secret hidey-hole)).

That would be interresting aswell, an extra localised boost to the allready existing dampener. As a sniper aswell i could see many benifits from that. But my point is if CCP creates modules for one thing like the dampener, then they should also create more then one way to counter it. (for instance the av for vehicles, snipers for snipers, Ar514 for the hmg, etc) yet each of these also has other approaches to counter them so to speak. |
