Alright, that name is a WIP. Help me find something a little bit better? :D
Lately I've been playing a lot with Scouts and stealth gameplay, just to see if it's any good, and honestly, I could see myself doing a lot of this. There's a lot of running, jumping, and patience required, but if you do it right, it's great. I'm very new to Scouts. Very. I've been using them for over a month and I still die over 10 times if I'm trying to speed tank. And then I found Stealth Tanking.
This fitting is based completely around tricking people. Into exploding themselves. With explosions. That you place. That's right, this uses Remote Explosives as it's main weapon! Basically, you walk around, and look for people to hunt. Imagine there are 3 people at Alpha. You run over there, and use distractions and trickery to kill them. How? Easy. Run in, fire your SMG at them, get them down to low health, and then duck behind the unhacked Null Cannon. When they're taking the moment to reload, you're placing an RE. After it's done, find a way to escape without dying, wait for them to hack the turret, and then make them realize what you did.
This fit has pretty low-level finisher weapons, some modules built around stealthy gameplay (So you don't get spotted before you get that RE down), and of course, things that go boom. Fitting is below-
Quote:1x - Gallente Scout G-1 1x - ADV Speicalist Flaylock Pistol 1x - Submachine Gun 1x - Standard Reactive Plating 1x - Enhanced Profile Dampener 1x - Militia Precision Enhancer You will need some Engineering/Electronics/Core upgrades to do this.
Active Scanners (At least the basic ones) cannot scan you with this fitting. Your profile is too low for anyone to see you without an Active Scanner (Unless they have many scanning modules), and it's generally a very stealthy suit. I once stood behind a Scout Sniper for about 2 minutes before he turned around. Still killed him and his uplink.
To give you an idea of the stealth abilities of this fitting... I was pretty much always behind someone. I could walk behind someone for more than a full minute without being seen. It's pretty good. Active Scanners ADV+ are always a problem though. The Basic ones are so weak they can't see you though. What I like to do is find the guy scanning, and then lay my RE in front of the place he's trying to get to. If it goes like you want it to... Well, scanner go boom.
Either way, in shorter terms, this fit is based around tricking and distracting enemies into walking into explosives. Much fun. So stealthy. Wow.

My favorite thing is the completely random +50 that you get when someone shoots your RE.
I was once behind a sniper, and I laid down a RE under him. Now, instead of, I dunno, looking for his attacker, he decided to look directly down instead. And this is where I want to know what he was thinking. I WATCHED him as he looked down, took out his SMG, and shot the strange black box that was sitting under him.
Cue the spongebob meme-
Quote:I'll have you know that I watched him shoot an RE.
And only laughed my a*s off for 30 minutes. -There we go.
Seriously though, I actually had to get to a safe place so I could set my controller down and try to stop laughing.

I have actually put the art of perfect equipment placement down to a science.
Earlier I was placing a RE on an enemy Uplink, someone spawned on it, walked right past me. I ran off, he realized what happened, started shooting at me, so I looked back, booped the button, and the poor guy died.
And never forget the trick where you're running from a Heavy, place an RE under you, and then set it off.

I was playing yesterday and there was a 500+ Armor Gallente Assault that ALWAYS saw me. Didn't have an Active Scanner, didn't have scanning modules (Judging by his health), just plain saw me all the time. He was hacking once and still managed to turn his back and obliterate me with his Duvolle.
And note that I run scanning modules. ALL THE TIME. I run at least one Enhanced Profile Dampener, sometimes two. No idea how this guy kept seeing me. I'm hunting him down now... In my PROTO-LOGIIII

Instead of "Trapper", how about "Saboteur"? Word works well when placing RE's at hack points and on top of friendly or enemy equipment. |

That's a good one, yea, but not really the full role. You also need to district, or protect, stuff like that. For some reason 'Trickster' or 'Loki' come to mind.

Which weapon seems to entice enemies best? Scrambler pistol seems too obvious, so flaylock rounds?
Because they are visible I like to place REs just inside doorways, atop stair landings for ascending enemies, on highest step for descending enemies, under enemy equipment near null cannons, and along narrow bridges. If an enemy is being a pain, sometimes I toss an uncooked grenade into the safe area to encourage him to come to roost.
Range makes it easy to align the blip on the diamond, but endurance makes jumping boxes and railing a reality. How do you keep REs stocked? 3 is such a small number. =( |

I canGÇÖt remember the exact numbers off the top of my head, but if you have a few levels of Gallente Scout suit, as well as a few levels of Profile Dampening, then that Enhanced Profile Dampener should be enough to hide you from Advanced Scanners as well. I think if you have these skills maxed, only the Proto Active Scanner can spot you even when you donGÇÖt have a Dampener equipped, and with the Enhanced Profile Dampener you should be invisible from Proto Scanners as well. (If I recall correctly.)
Also, I might as well link my Remote Explosive Guide.

A quick spreadsheet tells me that you go below advanced active scanners if you have at least: 1) lvl 3 Scout + lvl 4 dampening 2) lvl 4 Scout + lvl 1 dampening 3) lvl 5 Scout + lvl 0 dampening
If you wanted to go below prototype scanners (28 dB scan precision) you'd need: 1) lvl 4 Scout + lvl 5 dampening + enhanced dampener 2) lvl 5 Scout + lvl 3 dampening + enhanced dampener (lvl 2 would be sufficient if there was an AUR profile dampener with reduced skill requirements)

Apparently some issues with REs are happening with 1.7 (Although I don't trust me sources, KILLFACE)... Looking into it. :D

It's not that the SCP is too obvious, it's that the SCP costs more Core Power (CPU/PG). Also, carrying only finisher weapons will encourage you to almost TRAIN you to behave like a scout: Stealthy and carefully.
I run certain routes on each map that fit my style of play and/or my enemies style of play. Normally, I make sure my route crosses through a Supply Depot room or something. If the enemies catch on to my general flow, I'll ditch the plan completely and try to improvise my traps, in which case I run by Supply Depots or Nanohives while making my escape.
