less range than active scanners, but always "on." you dont get any WP for scanned enemies.
as soon as you step into its radius, you'd show up.
they'd be good for defending positions while active scanners are good for attacking.

yes. because passive scanners would function differently from a deployable scanner.
passive scanners should detect everything, if they are able to (skills vs dampeners in such)
active scanners should be broken into at least two different kinds. one for scanning infantry and vehicles, and one for scanning equipment. right now they give too much info
deploy-able scanners should work more like motion detectors, so they wouldnt detect equipment or someone standing still. because theyre deploy-able theyd be destroyable as well. and you cant keep using them over and over again. you throw one down in an area you want to guard, and if someones comes along to that area, then you'd know. |

Too COD-ish for my taste.

cod uses uavs and thermal heartbeat sensors. the current active scanner is more op than thermal heartbeat sensor or uav because the they dont reveal equipment. if any thing cod did it better, and dust 514 overly simplified it.
theres alot of people that dont like the active scanners, and this would fix that. |
