Despite its grizzly origin, Thanksgiving is about giving thanks and appreciation for the things in our life. So, in that spirit, I'd like to say thank you for a few things.
- Being invited to the Closed Beta way back in May '12. I was going through a pretty rough patch, then CCP came along and patched me into 1.0. Needless to say, I've been hooked ever since, even if it hasfelt like a terrible struggle at times.
- Aim Assist, even if it is a bit overdone. Once TTK is buffed a tad, and AA is nerfed a tad, I think it will create an excellent baseline for new and veteran players alike to fight on even ground. Many players have done plenty fine without it, and it simply makes the game feel smoother when it's working in a balanced and unobtrusive way.
- 1.7 Dropship changes. Seriously guys. Thank you. Uprising was basically the worst experience I've had with DUST so far, nearly pushing me to ragequit the game (specifically because of logi dropships), though killer bees with godlocks I shall never miss. At least on paper, these new changes for the dropships look very nice, though I'm still curious to see how they play out against railguns, or how small blasters and railguns will function (as in, will they function?)
- The Heavy HP buff. I think it was a good start in the war on TTK
- TEASING ME WITH VEHICLE SKILLS FOR ALL RACES
- Consistently attempting to deliver new events, regardless of how well they may have been conceived or received. As time goes on and the process is refined, I feel that these will be very cool and fun incentives to keep us coming back. Keep up the good work.
- Orbitals from EVE players. Even if it is the ultimate T Bag mechanic right now. But still, it's just so cool, in concept, in practice, and just in terms of the technology behind it. Awesome, thank you.
- **** like this
- Or this
- And certainly things like this
- All the guys and gals of OSG for being an awesome corp and giving me some great games when I'm not off roaming alone
- All the help I've received from various forum members, from advice to ISK to competition, I'm thankful for it all
- Thank you for instating and working with the CPM. I honestly thought you would wait, but I'm glad you didn't. Building a tempo and good foundation for a relationship between CCP and the CPM can only be good for the health of the game in the long run.
- All the new buildings and sockets for the maps. I love the direction they're headed in, even if they have taken some time to get to us. Variation helps build longevity, because generally speaking, it's fun. It helps to keep you in the moment, and keeps things from growing stale.
- MCC and Null cannon missiles that explode my dropship. Seriously. This makes me rage so hard you don't even understand, but I also love that it's all part of being a good pilot, or just plain bad luck.
- Blood Raiders Saga BPO
- Even if it's not technically DUST related, and even though I haven't been able to play in some time; the ever flowing expansions for EVE online. These build an excellent standard for what DUST could become in the years ahead, and they're just really cool and well done. I wish I could spend more time EVE side, but, c'est la vis
- Sky boxes. Have you guys just stopped and looked at the sky lately? It's ******* awesome half the time. In line with both sky boxes and events, this was pretty freaking awesome.
- GM Unicorn
- Login SP bonus. That's pretty cool, and even though I've screwed up my combo plenty of times, it always keeps DUST in the back of my mind, and I'm alright with that.
- Faster login times, and the ability to log out without exiting the game. These are both awesome, and I hope the trend continues.
- Much much more, but to avoid what has already become a gigantic list, I'll leave it at this. Thank you for inviting me and everyone else to come play this game, for better or for worse. I've been on this boat since shortly after its departure, and while it's been a crazy ride, I'm thankful for every moment of it. Keep it classy guys

P.S. saw you earlier today and killed a swarmer shooting at you... right after he got off the killing volley. Wasn't me, I only had two matches today, this being one of them :p Oh wait, unless you were talking about my fail tank, then yes, that could very well have been me. Why I even called that thing in >_< I'm getting rid of my tank skills in 1.7 so I can resist the urge to call one in and lose it lol.
